Every single song is making me sob here uncontrollably. They all had a special effect on my life. Now if Once Upon A December from Anastasia was included I would've cried for hours.
@Kalivex I'm thinking about seeing Anastasia. Some people online horrified me by calling it a "musical comedy", though. I can't find it here on YouTube and that description has me too turned off to go out and buy it without seeing it first. What are your thoughts on it?
@AstralDragoon It is an amazing classic to me. It is a musical with bits of comedy in it but it isn't stupid funny. It is clever comedy. It is a great love story jam packed with mystery and magic. Please watch it. Its such an underrated gem.
@Kalivex Fabulous; the "stupid funny" was what I was afraid of, so thank you for the input. It's hard to know what to think when getting such strange information from other sources. I'll look into getting a copy.
@Kalivex Glad to hear it. However, if by conversion you were referring to similar family films, you should know that I already love animated movies and own several of them, including some of the ones shown here. Anastasia is one that I've had an interest in seeing for many years, but my journey back into the classics only began recently.
These are some of my favorite movies. Just the other day I was thinking about watching these movies. AND seriously 2 minutes ago I was wondering what the An American Tale song was called. I couldn't remember the name of the movie. Then I found this video on accident and thought why not watch it. That's scary stuff right there.
I love the emotion you get from the old movies. After learning about the life of Judith Barsi (the girl who plays Ann Marie) I cannot listen to the song without crying. She was originally supposed to sing it herself but because her father was so abusive she couldn't get though it herself. May she rest in peace with her dear mother.
"Wherever you are" does not have the clip with the song but if you DID see the clip with the song you might bawl your eyes out. I mean, I cannot BELIEVE how dark "pooh's grand adventure: the search for christopher robin" is. When I was a kid that movie...just...GOD...
@Ryu7490 no way! if something's sad you should cry. i still cry at it and several Disney movies and i'm 19. if a movie makes you cry than it's a good movie
I hated that fox and hound song!!! OMG!! I remmber wathcinnthis as a kid an d SOBBING!!!! Now im grown and STILL sobbing!!!! YOU STUPID OLD BITCH!! DX!!!! *BAWLS*
The one on this list that definately brings me a tear everytime in "Wherever you Are" from Pooh's Grand Adventure. It's so sad because Pooh truly believes that Christopher's gone forever.
First is from All Dogs Go To Heaven, always makes me cry. Especially now that I'm grown and know what happened to the little girl who did the voice. Her father killed her shortly after the movie was recorded :o(
The Fox and the Hound song is the worst one, as in, it's the most emotional one. Horrible really. But it's even more depressing when it's put with the actual scene. T~T'
aaah, the song from Fox and the Hound always makes me cry, lol. These are all songs from such wonderful and timeless movies. I miss them all! <3 Thanks for posting and keepin the memories alive!
ooh i didnt realize that "somewhere out there" was in the original american tale. I first saw it in the American Tale: Fievel Goes West movie, and fell in love with it...but this version is good too :)
OH MY GOD!!!! What are you tryin ti do to me?!?! This is so so saaaad! I cant even THINK about fox and the hound without crying! So good though, well done *sniff*
She was killed along with her mother, even before the movie was released. Such an absolute tragedy. In fact the song Love Survives (the theme song of the movie) was reportedly recorded in her memory.
Just as a little sidenote, I believe she also did the voice for Duckie in TLBT. I don't know if someone mentioned that, but if they did, Im sorry for the repeat!

Of course, it could be just a random doe and her fawn but I know Disney likes to make refrences to their older movies in other movies, so I thought that might be Bambi.
ITS BAMBI! =0 DUDE! She got shot at pennys place? That makes it 5000 times as sad! I believe you are right though, that's way to exact not to be them....*sobs* I heard all these except winnie the pooh, disney happiest place on earth....happy like a TRUCK to the heart!
'Goodbye may seem forever' reminds me so much of my Grandmother who died when I was a kid...even more so because she had bought me and my sister a Fox and Hound book.
Interesting how during Pooh's song, with all the different clips, you can see the differences in quality between the three main sources of footage: the stuff made by the real Disney studio in the '60s and '70s, that TV show made by Japanese crews-for-hire during the '80s, and the '90s/'00s direct-to-video movies made by other crews-for-hire. The footage keeps alternating between all three. The differences in the animation really jump out at you.
God, I loved all of these movies when I was a kid. I miss them so much! I can't wait till I have kids. There's no way I'll let them watch any of the crap from nowadays. I'll make sure they'll grow up on this stuff. The good stuff.
@Rocknrollgirlbabe hun i'm 19 and i still cry at that movie! some movies are just that good that you cant help but cry. i just watched The Lion King last night and at Mufasa's death scene i still cried.
good thing Tanya's the one we most remeber singing this, Fievel can barely hold a note.
