  • I always thought DE worked because it was so sharp at a microscopic level and got into the joints and cracks in the exoskeleton, thereby ripping the bugs up from the inside.

  • i see a lot of yankeeprepper fams here

  • I drink the shit everyday, and the silica benefits alone are worth a fortune.

  • While I do take this video seriously and appreaciate the information, I couldn't help but giggle when you said 'dust a crack'.

  • I would like to see video evidence of DE actually killing an insect. Time lapse is fine. I hear a lot about it working, mostly from salesmen, but I won't be convinced until somebody shows me.

  • Very good but you have to know the facts - diatomaceous earth are not diatoms. They are the fossilized remains of the silica shell that forms around diatoms. Just like any other fossil, the actual living thing is completely gone and the matter that formed around it is intact. Diatoms are not extinct.

  • Diatoms are not extinct. They still live in bodies of water. But diatomaceous earth is mined and made from ancient deposits of dead diatoms. Also, it's important to use food grade DE, not the pool filter variety.

  • Tell me why the DE I use for my pool would not be as effective for say household fleas other than the fact that Little bottle you have there probably costs as much as 25 of 50 pounds of the DE I use for my pool and there have been many people who have had great results with it.Do you sell that product?

  • @VicodinES mostly because of the chemicals they put in pool grade DE

  • Static cling. The bugs only need to get near some diatoms, and the static charge will make them stick to the bugs LOL.

  • its very dangerous to inhale! no chemicals but the white powder is sharp like glass and will destroy your lungs if inhaled so wear a heavy duty filter mask when putting it down. but get food grade dia-earth not pesticide

  • Remember people as Jeff and others have stated, please read the directions. If used properly it can be one of the best things you ever come across. Food Grade that is. But anything, anything can be abused. You can drink too much water and drown yourself. Just use properly, Dont breathe it in, drink plenty of water if you are injesting a tsp-tbsp a day of Food Grade DE, and KILL every insect your home comes in contact with. Sorry animal rights people. :-) Enjoy Life better with Food Grade DE!

  • . You are right. People hear about this product and the AWSOME things that it doeas and thy think it is the safest thing in the world. Thank you for making sure people pay attention to the "need to knows" about any product they use. However, I use ONLY "Food Chemical Codex Grade" Diatomaceous Earth and let me tell you, It kills EVERYTHING that crawls. All Insects, including BIG ones. I use it for ME and My dogs and It is Great. just DO NOT breathe it in. Learn a lot on "thesmiths9" vid. Thanx!

  • the first thing you want to do is that if you're using DE for pest control, you want to make sure you choose one that was designed for that, a study out of OSU demonstrated that some of the forms are ineffective against bed bugs, there is "food grade" DE and as for the health effects I strongly suggest you do extensive research before you begin ingesting anything, much of the "it's good for...." comments are purely anecdotal and have no research backing their claims

  • Food Grade DE (earthworks) can be ingested. Do NOT use anything other than food grade internally. It is also called "shell flour". It "cuts" (at the microscropic level) an insect's waxy shell which makes the insect dehydrate and die. Think "death by a thousand cuts". Larger animals, like cats, dogs....people, are NOT harmed by the food grade DE. In fact, it HELPS us. It lowers BP, removes plaque from teeth, clears arteries, helps painful joints, etc.

  • Just be careful there are two grades of this, First of which is the food grade and is very safe to eat and to be put literally anywhere. The other is treated with other chemicals and used in pools.

  • Diatoms are still around today and also diatomaceous earth is microscopically razor sharp which damages insects and thus they loose fluid and dehydrate.

  • Would you advise taking some DE when traveling? I was thinking it might be helpful to sprinkle a bit in the bed at the hotel. I use the food grade and put it in my smoothie each morning.

  • how about the one that is "food grade"? i bought mine at a natural store and you can digest it and it will help your system be more effective also your dog will get rid of worms if you add it to their food. you also use it for bugs

  • @cherryberryblossom DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ELSE BUT FOOD GRADE. anything that is filter grade is very dangerous... This video is not very informative. food grade DE is safe to eat safe for pets, safe in general. DO NOT GET FILTER GRADE DE.

  • @KillerTofu808 I agree, this vid is the least informative I have seen on DE

  • @KillerTofu808 Can you enlighlen us?

  • why? A tablespoon! That is a lot.

  • lol my friends dad takes two a day..

  • a very good thing to drink.... 1 tablespoon a day
