  • Those cowards with billions are the enemy. I'll bet if u put a gun in there face they cry like a bitch and i would shoot them and sleep like a baby. Things u say right here can be hold against u in the court of law like martial law. Based on "terrorism," is now even for the average person who is just speaking there heart. I could be arrested for even mention it, all my rights would be takin away. This is no bullshit they make these laws and u don't even know about it.

  • Well my opinion it's mainly the goverment that caused/cause these things in the first place. It's the people that are dumb enough to join an army to fight for there will. But there just people, educated in what ever in that time the propaganda is. Sadly it's happening all around the world around now financial for sure. That is total corruption and i'm sad to see people hating on eatch others nationalisticly in Europe while there is a greater goal to fight against.

  • Love Ireland and the Irish. We Brits were 'raped' by the Scandiavians, the French and the Germans - i.e. Vikings, Normans and Saxons so how far back do we go?! Forgive and forget and move on ('Imagine there's no counties')!

  • @lumbago12 "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" how can we forget when the british still occupies the north of ireland

  • @aod123100 They don't occupy northern ireland anymore.

  • @aod123100 You're confusing the British with the Vatican.

  • @lumbago12 well said!

  • @lumbago12 True, though Normans were Vikings that had 'raped' France before doing it to Britain - which was already 'raped' by the Romans.

Also don't forget the Irish 'raped' the Scottish Highlands. History is fun.

  • @MacBratt happy new year jack

  • @MacBratt Too right!

  • To all of my friends, distant family, and dear civilians in Ireland, I am English, but I support Irish Republicanism for the following reasons.

    1. I'm not an imperialist, facist, or slave driver like most people tend to view us. I believe any Island nation has a right to its own land to be governed

    2. My family came over from Galway, and if you translate Ruane into Gaelic it's O'Ruadhain

    3. I celebrate S.T Patricks day because of my Irish heritageTBC>

  • @XxpauldadudexX John Lennon was pictured with placards supporting the IRA, and met with IRA men in New York including Gerry O'Hare the Provos' 'Belfast Brigade' press officer. He said Lennon offered to do two concerts for them in Dublin and Belfast to fund raise, but 'appeared confused about the conflict'. David Shayler claims Lennon di send money to IRA, but Yoko denies this, and the FBI file on him ONLY shows he sent money to the Civil Rights Movement of NI.

  • @XxpauldadudexX He did however distance himself totally from the IRA when they started their bombing campaign in mainland Britian 74, during which civilians were targeted, and later expressed regret for involving himself in 'politics' so deeply, when really he was an entertainer.

  • @XxpauldadudexX Say that to all the muslims and blacks in England today ! I think the english wish to be irish.

  • @XxpauldadudexX cos theyre all dead!

  • Fuck British Imperialism, they are already collapsed.....Long Live China, India and Russia....The opressed will now be stronger than the colonialist.

  • @Maxsarkar so the oppressed have now become the oppressors.. how about just fuck all governments

  • @XxpauldadudexX

Tibetan wants to remain in Peoples Republic of Cinia rather than colonised by UK. UK is now dead, they are no longer imperialist and they have lost their all power in our eyes. Now be ready to face us...India, China and Russia. If you are not....you will face a same consequence what the English had done to India.

  • @XxpauldadudexX

First of all, I am here on behalf of Maoris...And I am doing political work for themmm...Secondly you did not criticize imperialism of Shitty Queen of England.

  • i think jl was only speaking the facts ? about the evil in the north of ireland ? where the irish where being treated like scum by the evil protestant/loyalist/british scum ? aint that soo tru ? jl was a revolutionary and a man of freedom :) who wanted justice for all :0 ?aint that bit soo tru ? :) ofc any protestant scum wil try and discredit jl bcause he favoured a unified ireland :) he only sang the truth :) just remember the my people :) jl was not a fool :)

  • If ya had the luck of the Martians, ........You'd still rather be Martian, than Earthling.RIP,JL

  • Shit happens people. Good people do bad things and bad do good. Let us pray that the past is not repeated and that our children live in love. I spent 30 years of my life under threat. Peace is a wonderful thing!

  • Tiocfaidh ár lá

  • Britain today still takes part in other people's wars (Iraq, Afghanistan, Lybia). Its still the same Imperialism and its still covers the flag in blood - including those of young British soldiers themselves. When will we ever learn? John was against all wars - and told it like it is, even though he was English he could still see the wrongs of politicians who made others fight their political wars.

  • @RawJobber Of course if you look at all the so called 'English' to commit attrocities or colonial outrages in Ireland, from Strongbow De Clare, through Devereux, the Earl of Essex, even Oliver Cromwell, they are almost without exception part of the same ruling Norman elite that put down the English even more savagely in their land too. The Tudors a Welsh dynasty started the problems in Ulster, the Stuarts a Scotch dynasty consolidated and entrenched them. The English are relatively blameless.

  • @RawJobber I think John was if truth be told unhappy with England when he wrote this song for the unfair and hypocritcal way Yoko had been treated in press and public, and he wanted to embrace a new identity, American/Irish/ whatever. He was no historian. That said the English themselves don't help matters by supporting the ruling elite (still fucking them over..see a government cabinet of millionair tory's) and not realising they are as much victims of 'empire' as the Scots, Irish and Welsh.

  • @jacksbacksucker Lennon, like many people in the north-west has Irish ancestry somewhere in his faily tree. Im suprised that someone who talked about peace all the time would sing such a song when he surely knew what kind of trouble a song like this could stir up.

  • @WorkOrRiot JL had Catholic Irish ancestry on his fathers side, and Ulster Protestant Ancestry on his mothers. His uncle in Liverpool was even a member of the Orange Order. His aunt Mimi who bought him up was very anti-catholic and anti-Irish, so that was the influence on him growing. I think this probably also played some part in him embracing his 'Irishness' in later life, because he'd been bought up to be ashamed of it.

  • @WorkOrRiot I do agree though it's ironic he sang thse songs, promoting 'nationalism' less than a year after singing 'Imagine no countries'. He was in NY surrounded by many Irish republicans and also it was the time of Bloody Sunday, it was an emotional time with ballte lines drawn, a peaceful message might have been more helpful true.

  • @XxpauldadudexX yoko is not well liked by many of the beatles' fans..the day lennon hooked up with her was the beginning of the end for the beatles..the pre-yoko lennon was way much better than the post-yoko lennon!

  • @clouds882 I'm a Beatle fan and I couldn't disagree more. John had outgrown the Beatles long before Yoko come on the scene. He always had a very zany irreverent side, and Yoko bought that out in him, they were a perfect match. I can't say i care for her singing no, but I admire her personality. If nothing else her dedication to the peace movement was always stronger than John, and remains so to this day, she deserves credit for that.

  • @snowedinpatrol Lennon told the truth quite clearly and succinctly, britains history is no different from nazi germany other than over a longer period. todays britain bears little resemblance to its criminal past, though it carries the baggage from that period examine your own brainwashing if you believe britain has a right to a part of another country with a small british minority whose presence was brought about through genocide of the native population ,4 independant republics is the answer

  • IRELAND 4EVA <3

  • @jitterbug121 yes

  • Great musician and song writer but John could be full of shit at times. His views on Ireland and politics generally are confused to say the least.

  • Hello from Eritrean America! Fight on for a united Ireland!

  • Yoko ono sucks!!! She ruins this song!!!!!!!!

  • @RichardElden You have mentioned it a few times before Richard. I think we get it now. :)

  • Yoko´s singing sucks.

  • happy birthday John

  • @claupee where u from?

  • @habbomanish I'm fromArgentina, regards

  • Proud to be Irish and a Celt, its in my blood, and i will always be honoured to be a part of the Irish Celtic blood line :D

  • @DorsetRod He did support the IRA and had meetings with them in New York, and expressed a wish to retire to Ireland. Yoko Ono strenously denies they financially supported the IRA, though they did give money to the Civil Defense League of Northern Ireland, which may have filtered through. I believe this as the C.I.A was watching him very closely and would have known if it wasn't true. Ironically though the IRA man who dealt with Lennon, said Lennon grasp of the Irish situation was basic &confused

  • @DorsetRod Also he sang this song AFTER he went to live in the U.S.A it was recorded in New York. He left England because Yoko Onos husband had abducted her daughter Kyoko and taken her to America. They needed to be there to track her down and fight for custody. Lennon fell in love with New York and wanted to stay there. He'd had a hard time in England as people there blamed Yoko for splitting the Beatles, and were openly hostile and insulting towards her.

  • @DorsetRod

Lennon was a musician, one of the greatest ever, his voice was his weapon so in a way this is the best and most powerful support he could give which he did.

  • 61 dole monkey huns hated this song

  • John and Paul both sang songs for Ireland, ignore the shit of the not irish, the songs were banned in the uk,what did they gain .

  • @DorsetRod how arrogant you people are.NOTbritish territory but british theft by murder,:Irish question:very reminisicent of the nazis :jewish question:(with similar end result)

  • @DorsetRod i happen to be irish ,those dublin sycophantic corupt arse kisers have as much right to make deals on our behalf as your(butchers apron) british flag has to be in any part of Ireland.i do buisnes in Canada U.S/AU these countries indigenous peoples, have suffered from british lust for power & greed.Gvmnts there have made massive inroads today in adressing the wrongs created by the noble british empire. soon martin mcguinness may be president of all Ireland, pretty good old for ira man

  • @DorsetRod seems to me some village in Dorset is missing its idiot.there are stil 10 million french people living in canada last time i checked.sorry i didnt realise you were an aristocrat as you believe IRL was yours to give away, its my guess an aristocrat wouldnt piss on you if you were on fire.BTW poor job of kicking the french out.i agree Lennon wont change your mind, you would have to have one to begin with.stick to looting &pissing it up,geo/political commentry is for not you.. WERE DONE

  • @despuis The French scum are living in the town where my father was born not far from Ottawa in our wonderful colonial days. We kicked them outa Nova Scotia and should have finished the job. Ireland did belong to the English by conquest, quite an easy thing to do I believe, just as England was conquered by the Normans so the Normans expanded their empire and headed west to Wales and Ireland. To the victor goes the spoils, it was ever thus. Seems to me like you don't know your history, fucktard.

  • @DorsetRod :Yup.Ireland indeed was conquered by England. When the Irish fought back they became Terrorists.

  • @DorsetRod Strongbow (Robert de Clare), 1169, a Frenchman. Robert Devereux 1590-1601, French Norman. Oliver Cromwell 1650-660, French Norman (Cromwell descends from William D'Aubigny of Manche, France, whose family took Cromwell, Nottinghamshire as their seat and adopted its name). Marshal Schomberg, 1690, Chief Commander at the Boyne, French Huguenot. The French huguenot regiments outnumbered all others at the boyne, and were the cream of the Dutchman William of Orange's. fighintg force.

  • @DorsetRod You talk abouth history but from what i can see the 'English' conquest of Ireland was largely the responsibility of the same 'French Scum' you profess to hate so much. Certainly not the poor downtrodden Anglo-Saxon English who havn't held power in their own lands since 1066. They have been disenfranchised longer than their Celtic brothers, and the fact they've been fooled into thinking the empire was built by or for their benefit is sad indeed. England needs independance much as Eire.

  • @jacksbacksucker lets not cry about the saxons....they were pretty damn ruthless and had the welsh as slaves in townships know called "walton" and other now very corrupted settlement meanings still around. The saxons just suffered from a bigger bully...maybe its kharma........they kicked out the brythons from Exeter and then only 100 years later they get their arse kicked..........btw genetics told me in uni that saxons are minority elite...most english are old school brythons but germanised

  • @Apemanwithcalculator All very true. I'm not pro 'Saxon' 'Viking'or anything else. Truth is all these people were brutal, because people in general are brutal, now as then. I mean you could say exactly the same for the Celtic/Brythonic Pictish tribes. It makes me laugh these people who promote the Celts as some sort of early day pagan hippy sect. They were headhunters, and savage beyond belief. In their own mythology/history admit to enslaving the previous inhabitants of Britain and Ireland.

  • @Apemanwithcalculator I'm sceptical about genetics myself, but it does back up other evidence too from archeology. I believe the Britons who had been under Roman rule were used to subservience and lost their self sufficiency to such a degree they welcomed, or at least accepted and aped, the new Saxon/Angle ruling elite which was relatively small. No doubt small scale battles and massacres occured, but not widespread, indeed no archeoligcal evidence ever found to support that to date.

  • @jacksbacksucker genetics provides better evidence than stories made up by the romans about the celts "head hunting".....true the druids were probably up their own arse but the atrocities committed on romans was greatly exagerrated to get support from rome for invasion

  • @Apemanwithcalculator I do believe they were head hunters, there is evidence of this in the La Tene Cave paitings of severed heads, plus Celtic mythology abounds with tales where heroes and their opponents have their heads severed, and the head is then carried in triumph. I think your scepticism of the Romans impartiality is well founded of course, but in this case there is corroboration. Of course Celts, Germans, Latins all Indo Europeans, all had similar customs at times.

  • @jacksbacksucker La tene caves arent in the british isles, total different geographic area...the celts werent an empire.......anyway i am not stick up for the pagan celts who were as ignorant as the other head hunting tribes across the world

  • @Apemanwithcalculator The la Tene Culture is believed to be Celtic. The Celts of course stretched all across Europe, the British isles included. I know they didn't have 'empire' in the sense of Rome, but still, they like the Germanics, almost certainly moved into lands as a smallish 'ruling' elite, overpowering the natives. This is certainly evident in their mythology for what it is worth. The Indo-European tribes, Roman, Saxons, Celts, were all fairly similar springing from a common tribal root

  • @jacksbacksucker it is believed that under gaullic society...yes they loved a good fight but life was short anyway...but they looked after orphans and disabled people...with women without children taking these carer roles...the romans on the other hand left them to die. archaelogy points to orphan dumps where they left to fend fer themselves...sad thing is the irish became romanised through the catholic churhc when celtic chritianity seemed much more egalitarian.

    BTW not defending pagan celts

  • @DorsetRod can you beleive "welsh" as in a local brythonic language was probably spoken in dorset until 10th century maybe later

  • @Apemanwithcalculator So what, 'probably' isn't history, quote your sources...

  • @DorsetRod if you think the saxons were in dorset at the big bang then fair enough

  • @Apemanwithcalculator I am not saying the Saxons were in Dorset from the beginning of time, whatever gave you the idea I thought they were? The original tribes of Dorset were the Durotriges tribe, from whom Dorset gets its name. They were here when the Romans arrived in 43AD to conquer the country. I am not sure what language they spoke but it certainly was not Germanic, - probably Celtic or Ancient British or a mixture of the two. All language is fluid/ever changing. Modern English is a hybrid.

  • @DorsetRod The archeaological record shows there were people living in the area of Dorset right back to the Neolithic era, at least, predating the Celtic tribes such as the Durotriges by many thousands of years. The Celts came acorss the Sea in the late Bronze age and Iron age, and are as much invaders to this land as anyone. We'll never know what language the original inhabitants of these isles spoke as they left no written record to reconstruct it. Even their culture is largely mysterious.

  • @jacksbacksucker A pity back in the bronze and iron ages the Celts didn't have armoured cars and tanks and guns to bring slaughter, i cant beleive some of you guys were paid tuition fees at uni to learn fuck all and suck up all you were told. C'mon open your minds, think for yourselves. This is why uk is so fucked, open your eyes. Britannia once ruled the waves but watch wher our so called favourite allies (usa) lead us, i fear for my kids and grandkids over next generation.

  • @paulkeen65 Sorry my university education must have addled my brains, that sounds like bollocks to me, not a clue what your talking about.

  • @jacksbacksucker hes confusing the real british - the celts ..with the anglo norman imperialists who conquered a third of the world lol..UK is fucked up due to ignorance not because of external factors

  • @paulkeen65 Britannia true meaning was stolen by the english state...."once ruled the waves" what you mean the corrupt anglo norman elite that suppress the celtic peasants....most english are of celtic stock not some trumped up norman land owning aristocrats now swanning about as fat tory mps with cameron

  • @3tangle3 "Britannia true meaning was stolen by the english state" The Norman state. It is time we all stop seperating the English. In these Isles they have suffered the most. Whereas the Welsh remained free unti the 1300's, the Scots until the 1600's, the English have not been free since 1066. They were massacred by the normans on a scale greater than the Irish/Scots & Welsh. The Irish in comparison, 80% of them at least have thrown off the overlords, & are only independant state in these isles

  • @jacksbacksucker i just saw :if tomorrow never comes:, i really enjoyed it ,thanx jack ,i dont know why you respond to that idiot RE,its obvios he,s just baiting

  • @DorsetRod all I think apeman was trying to say was that the anglo-celtic history of england should be better respected.....I live near shropshire and they totally ignore the welsh speaking communities in its west...who were speaking welsh until as late as 1930s....lack of welsh medium education was final nail in coffin. But I digress lol. Peace

  • @3tangle3 Not having a pop at you you understand, just the people of these isles have been divided to long by those above, we need to come together and work together towards four independant REPUBLICS, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland. A confederate of equals with mutual respect for each other.

  • @jacksbacksucker NO JOKE, but that would be awesome...throw in a stannary parliament with autonomy for far flung cornwall and maybe devon and thats perfect..........(up to public vote ofc)

I want to travel into space...I dont really care about petty behaviour....what i hate is ppl from england telling me I cant think different or be different.....luckily they are a dwindling number

  • It's not the PEOPLE !

    It's Politics

People, the world over, have suffered enough.

    Imagine......

  • So much hate on here, Grow up guys, and I am saying this to both sides. I am irish and I hate all this fucking bigotry. To all irish people, stop making nationalistic comments and instigating rows, to all British people on here, stop making ignorant comments about the IRA, your coutnrymen would have done the same thing if you were being occupied by a imperial power discriminating against the majority of the population.

  • @RichardElden congratulations, you must be an oxford graduate with that piece of worldly knowledge

  • @despuis clearly judging by the comments the british education system is in sad decline.isnt it odd how british people have chosen this site to discuss their own history instead of the negative impact they have had by their presence in our country

  • @FreeGael Scousers are irish, fuck the Queen.

  • 0 - 1'20 secs ....nice enough folk song...good work JWL.

1'21"onwards.....oh dear. head in hands. click 'stop'

  • @RichardElden stop being a fucking troll the black an tans were a disgrace to the british army....criminal minded scum

  • @3tangle3 you have to ask yourself, why are these moronic brits even on this site(not you jbs)their lives are so empty meaningless they are on a site they have no empathy with, seems the brits have a need to impose themselves where thet dont belong even in cyber space.England,s such a sad mess of a sewer they try to divert themselves i suppose, they should try fixing their own country instead of looting it.thank god the beatles were liverpool irish ira and told the world the truth, tiochfaidh ar la

  • @despuis

I can tell you've not met many English people and watched a hell of a lot of American movies.

English people are just as bad as Irish people, japanese, scots, somalians, Frenchmen, italians ect. ect, ect.
