  • why don't you just buy a pair of stereo speakers?

  • esto sonido speaker out

  • @nichtnormal33

    ist es nicht !

    es geht wirklich :D

  • How to build that¿? >.<

  • damn i wanna build this

so does it reaquire the program your running on your comupter screen to operate?

  • 2.43 Is The average of cheap speakers.

  • I've seen this b4, but done with soda cans.

  • how? lol

  • i did this to my old dead hdd's when i saw your vid.

  • it sounds better if you remove the read disks. it gets rid of that static sound your getting from the read head rubbing on the disk.

  • how?

  • Awesome, how to do that?

  • This could be Edison favourite video

  • Big question, WTF XD lol how dose it do that?

  • uuuu boa ideia vo desliga meu pc e vou faser isto pra verrr se fuciona tirando meu hd vou ficar sem pc mas querro ver se da serto isso

  • When I destroy my HDD I'll do it...

    Watch later :P

  • Take a pair of tin snips and cut off the read/write heads from the tip of the armature. That will eliminate the scratching sound because the heads are making contact with the platters since they are not moving and no air is lifting them up off the platters.

  • i already done this 5 years ago

  • remove the disks and it gets rid of that static sound they make.

  • i just made 2 of these from some old hard drives. one of em sounds good the other sounds like vrap unless i spin the drive slowly by hand but it works indeed it does.

  • may i have the song?

  • @BoBBaB0oN

He/She played Korean songs on his/her "Phonograph"... -.-

  • @MultiBlueXD i know. now i want to knnow the song name

  • Grate!!! ,i never think that is possible, Thanks.

  • phonograph returns!

  • Copy left, LOL!

  • lol danceing speakers cool

  • It's better to turn your paper cup / cd case 90 degrees. Because that's the way the needle is moving. Then build a loudspeaker case around the whole setup.

  • Cool. Broken HDDs can now be in use.

  • Ten cuidao con los discos duros ke se le estan escapando los datos...

  • 0:57 WAAAAAATTTT

  • what sort of power does this require? Could I just hook up my mp3 player to an old hd and use it as a speaker or would this require a power amp?

  • @prankmypants i think it requires a power amp. im not sure but.

  • @prankmypants You can just connect the MP3. The Power amp is not necessary

  • Люблю самоделки

  • :D mc mong

  • PUMP DAT BASS

  • Wow sound almost like JBL speakers...:)

  • how did u do this

  • ZOMG TREBLE EXPLOSION

  • I definitely didn't expect to hear some MC Mong when I stumbled across this video.

For those asking, the first song is Circus by MC Mong.

  • Edison must be smiling

  • I love how it looks like a record player

  • the name of the first song?

  • Congrats, you've just . . recreated the phonograph . ..

  • @Adzerk like you could do better....

  • now and speakers are not necessary, buy a 5 hdd and proceedings))

  • after being bored enough to actually search through the comments to find trinitrons post, I realized "G" and "T" are right next to each other on the keyboard....Just sayin

  • after being bored enough to actually search through the comments to find trinitrons post, I realized "G" and "T" are right next to each other on the keyboard....Just sayin

  • TOOOO MUCH HIGHT IT HURT MY EARS

  • this is clearly fake. when u hold the cup and when u let go, the sound doesn't even change

  • @humbertsin1994 yes it does!!! moron.

  • soooooo fake

  • @Abrahandsome3200 its not fake you can actually make these

  • @Abrahandsome3200 Shows how much you know about the world around you.

  • @Abrahandsome3200, Seeing as HDD's have a big magnet and speakers use big magnets, I can totally see how you think this is fake, because they have all the same components that it would never work.

Good work, you learnered sumfink twoday.

  • damn they even dance to the music! Awesome

  • see the bottom on the screen

  • excelente, buen invento

  • try it with a ssd

  • Are you Korean? Epik High is a good band.

  • what is the name of that first song.

  • what are u asian

  • 200 TB hard drives... Pics or GTFO.

  • what are those things?

  • In the HD you have the arm with a electromagnet and a strong permanent magnet, all that was lacking was a membrane which you provided. You could remove the shiny plates altogether and attach the membrane to the arm, that is all that makes it to work.

  • Your songs are crap

  • how do you make thoughs

  • japanese are suppost to be smart at technology anyways

  • another thing they would make great tweeters bass sucks lol

  • Is it the same effect like on a old horn gramophone?

  • interesting, but can you try another something other than the Disney Radio Channel?

  • Nerds do go 5.1 with that

  • looks like the old megaphone record players

  • สอนหน่อยสิครับคัยทำเปง

    มันใช้สายไฟเข้าช่องไหน

  • loadin windows media please wait

  • ROTFL thats cool

  • coolest speaker EVER!

  • wtf is a hdd speaker?

  • WTF did you do to those hard drives

  • sexy man good job

  • name of song? lol

  • all i have to say is lol

  • so this is real?

  • very creative but its kinda gay

  • @ElPimpster2000 spoken like a true douchebag

  • mc mong circus!! ^^

  • dude, freaken ghetto phonograph :P

  • why to destroy a hard disk just to hear bad quality sound?

  • @RapPunkNecu That's what I just thought... But still funny idea XDD

  • @RapPunkNecu you know you can take a damaged hdd for that... it's not like an hdd never breaks,

  • @JDarkona i know....but why? X_x

  • @RapPunkNecu The cool question is: why not? :)

  • is not the actual hdd that produces the sound, is the little electric motor that controls the laser. you can see it strarting 2:00. it works, but not what i was looking for!

  • @fadmaid HDDs don't have lasers... they have a magnetic read/write head

  • @Rendaylor ok my bad. i had no clue about that. the rest is true

  • @fadmaid there is no laser inside a HDD, lol u fail hard. hard like a hardrive fail lol.....dude inside a HDD, there is a read head (metal needle), metals disks, a motor drive the disk, and a giant piece of magnet (magnetized or demagnetize the disk electricly) thats how hdd store infomation. the spining metal disk). THERE IS NO LASER and u gotta understand that the metal needle never contact the metal disk.

  • @jack99889988 ok ok but what i said is still correct. (except the laser part)

  • are those hard drives. and how does a hard drive produce sound.?

  • how can i a touch the wire???

  • the music sucks assholes

  • Hdd speaker was featured in the instructable

  • im gonna be soo pissed off if this video is fake!!

  • so what would you need to make a sub, a bucket and a spindal case LOL

  • final fantasy :D

  • Fake, not even funny.

  • cool

  • lol

  • holy shit :D

  • excuse me??

    how'd you do that?

    what are the materials?

I really wanna know for our science project.

    I'll appreciate your reply

    THANKS!

  • that's pretty awesome

  • Epic win :D

  • where can i get a cheap amp for this project ?

  • @mikr0bas I think you just connect to the audio out, instead of speakers

  • thats pretty B A not gona lie lol

  • Cool !!!!

  • wat

  • great

  • hmmm i dont know what to think of this

  • Let me Explain for those who don't understand. A HARD DISK USES A VOICE COIL!!!. this is similar to the coils inside of a speaker. Just these are meant to use the frequency to move around. not play music, but they are the same thing.

  • Hey, it really works, I found out if you use a bigger capacity HD the sound is much, much better and louder. My present system uses 2 x 20MB HD as twitter, 2 x 120GB HD as mid range, 2 x 200TB HD for woofer

    Great idea thanks...

  • @trinitron1000

The HDD capacity is not important.

Amp Output capacity, and the sound echoes.

    Thanks attention.

    Good to succeed

  • @jogunis

wrong. the larger capacity drives generally have an extra disk or two, which also gets used in this circuit as a transducer, increasing the surface area which is playing back the music, increases the frequency response range in such a situation.

  • @trinitron1000

    2 x 200TB HD for woofer

    200 TB?!?

the size is not important XD

  • @trinitron1000 troll

    200TB disks huh?

  • @trinitron1000 200 TB!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @trinitron1000 lmao you are such a fail they dont even make 200TB hard drives XD little liar XD

  • @trinitron1000 200TB HDD diddnt think they wer out yet u think u ment 200GB lmao!!!

  • @trinitron1000 200TB?!?! :D

  • @Roemming

    hahaha a!

he is realy thinking that the capacity make a difference !

Omg ! haha haa ahaha aha haahahahahaha .

  • @trinitron1000 a hdd cannot produce low freqs...

  • @trinitron100

    200TB?

    AHA!!

  • @trinitron1000

    yeah 200TB ...

Hahaha , kids these days !

HAHA ahah aha haahah aa hahahaha a.

  • @trinitron1000 are you being serious about the woofer HD?

  • @trinitron1000 200 tb? I think not.

  • @trinitron1000 HOW THE HE DO YOU GET A 20MB HDD/?

  • @trinitron1000 200TB? lol thats gotta be a whole crap load of junk?

  • @trinitron1000 what did you store on it? 50000 HD movies? lol

  • @trinitron1000 WAIT... WHAT??? Where the hell did u get TWO 200TB hdds?????

  • @varpppisss Did they even invent 200 TB drives yet?

  • @NETTMEDIA its for government and business use only not for public use that's what YouTube uses

  • @trinitron1000 Tweeter, I think you'll find.

  • @trinitron1000 would it not be insanely cheaper to buy a pair of nice speakers....

  • @trinitron1000 Holy shit! a 200 TB HD?

  • @secretsofdiffusion LOL wont exist for 5 years

  • @coolboy0620 Thx :)

  • thats cool

  • whats the point of this?

  • @phreeesubz reuse recycle lol

  • is ja geil

  • .... It's a digital Victrola.

  • GI joe is impressed with his new sound system.

  • That's Atomic Kitten isn't it? I got my HDD Seagate Sata speaker working!!! Whoohoo! The arm doesn't move though, I need more power or something.

  • Just need a small amp

  • @imthenats you on't need more power, you need to break the break :) it's on the side of magnets.

  • Comment removed

  • Compact amplifier is required. And the hard disk, but mostly the sound by vibrating plates.

Other equipment (vibration) and attach a big sound

  • @vladimirkafm Wikipedia ???

  • name of first song pls!!

  • Need a HDD-Subwoofer! O_O

  • With a 5.25 hdd ?! :P

  • is it better keeping the data plates? or remove them?

  • Damn! Thats the best one Ive seen yet. :)

  • and the Bass**lol

  • I take that the Harddrives have failed, so you put them to a different use?

  • Maybe you need amplifiers

  • aren't those hard-drives?

    thats cool

  • Che cagata , si vede lontano un miglio che a vibrare è la telecamera e non il hd

  • wtf? pokasdpkoaspokdas

  • how did you make that hdd to make sound from the first time

  • @0zzyosbourn3 i think it works almost like a real speaker

but its not a spool of isolated wire instead its the magnet that charges up to move the pointy thingy never tried to make one of these so i don't really know

  • wtf..

  • awhhh look at em wiggle :)

  • holy crap it is pretty good.

  • Please Play List of track in THis Video XP

& Thanks For VID xD 5+

  • Koreans FTW!!!

  • If this is for real LOL Id say its like the early vitaphone 75RPM system of years ago many decades agomany, many decades ago.

  • is this for real by the way

  • I think so. The HDD speaker thing is. the cup tuning i can believe as it'll work on the same theory as a sealed sub box almost.

  • 2 discs 1 cup! lol!

    great!

  • @masterbeth2002 Actually, it would be 2 disks 1 Cup.
