  • I don't normally like these superhero shorts. But this is fantastic. Keep up the good work.

  • After watching this again, I thought of something that could happen at the end. A bunch of thugs are terrorized a guy near the Protecter's house. He hears the cry and he decided to suit up to save him. During the fight, he gets another heart attack and ... well if you do it, than you'll think of something. "All because you can't be killed, doesn't mean you can't die". That is an awesome line.

  • @NightBeast12 the protector is 105 years old and has been inactive for 40 years. anyone he fought is retired or dead.

  • @blinky500 It was just an idea. I also think that if that happen, the Protecter would do it. He seems like the hero to do it, young or old. I also thought he looked more like he was in his 60's. In the vid, didn't he said that he was fighting crime for 50 years not 40?

  • DID YOU MAKE IT YET????

    I WANT THE GRAPHIC NOVEL!

  • Very Watchmen-like, very Frank Miller-like.

I love it. By no means take this comment as offensive or trying to say you gusy are not original.

I mean it in a very flattering way. Comics and superhero movies shpuld be like this.

  • That was beautiful, a fantastic portrait of an aging superhero. Love the old Noire feel and retro "Superman" look to "The Protector", I was saddened at the end when he reminds himself of the old days. Everyone has there limits.

Incredible movie. It's going into my favorites.

  • wow a great idea for a story i love this great job

  • I like this alot but the one part were he is taking out the costume took alittle to long. When he is laying it all out. You could have down some slow and fast cuts to show he put the whole thing out . It just felt alittle dragged out to me. The beginning when he takes it out and looks at it was fine though. I like the writing i would enjoy reading the comic if you ever do come out with it.

  • If you ppl made fun of OwlMan and Superwoman from watchmen It'l b as good as your "DUMB LOIS" MOCK :)

  • It's a little too similar to the Destroyer revamp by Robert Kirkman and Corey Walker for my taste. (aged hero with a heart condition laments he's unable to do what he used to, eventually gets back into the melee despite his limitations)

  • @paranoidandroid2010 never heard of the destroyer revamp.

  • @blinky500 It's from a Marvel MAX miniseries around 2009. Good stuff, albeit definitely only appropriate in the MAX line.

  • @paranoidandroid2010 just looked up the revamp, guess what, it came out in 2009. my short film predates the revamp by 3 years. looks like someone ripped me off.

  • @blinky500 I highly doubt that Kirkman scours youtube for ideas.

  • @paranoidandroid2010 what you doubt is irrelevant. the math is simple. my story is predates the marvel max story by 3 years. and its not too far fetched that kirkman saw this. my movies make the rounds. but whatever. just recant on your similarity statement seeing as how my film came first.

  • @blinky500 okay. I'm with you. I just read the Destroyer Revamp. other then The Protector being old and with a heart condition this is not similar at all! anyway. great work as usual! keep it up and don't let people say otherwise or keep you down!

  • I have to say, when I first started watching your videos, it's what I always wanted to do. My friends and I made films for a while, but every time we tried to kick up the production quality, things would always fall apart.

I love watching your videos. It reminds me that good stories can be made outside of hollywood.

  • @zyderman2050 thanks.

  • You know, I think there should be a sort of sequel where the old man goes out and finds these complex heroes but that's more pencil and script time than you wanna spend time on. But in all serousness well done my friend!

  • amazing video

  • This was bloody brilliant! Good job!!! :D

  • Do one of these about miracleman

  • It's a poignant story. Where have all our superheroes gone? Liked some of the comments too. For instance: he ducks when the gun is thrown at him and he makes a funny comment (touche Superman). We need more heroes today. They don't need superpowers just their presence would be nice. Maybe, someday, we will have a Protector. Thank you for sharing a great little movie. It was well acted, well filmed, and definitely well-written.

  • @Ronclown thank you very much.

  • Wow. Amazing work, I mean I was nearly in tears for a moment. The ending is what kept my eyes dry. He didn't seem depressed about it, just sad his time was up and accepting of it. That's really a departure from what i expected. Which is a damn good thing

  • @brandonel1 well thank you very much.

  • @brandonel1 Nicely done! Like anybody we all age and have to slow down and totally realize our physical as well as mental limits! Time keeps on going even when We've not!

  • Great job, its a moving story.

  • @rorschach98 thank you.

  • That was a poignant moving story, all wrapped up in 13 minutes.

I'd love to see you do a full length movie.

  • i would love to see it too.

  • He actually reminds me of Superman. His coumte is alittle different, but some of it's the same.I think today in this world, heroes are always needed.

  • This is very nicely done.

  • thank you.

  • wow amazing original

  • This was just beautifully done. Your script writing remains thoroughly impressive to me, probably because I'd love to write vignettes as deliciously fleshed out. Well done!

  • Oh man. That is so sad.

    I feel sorry for him.

  • i LOVE IT. great job.

  • That was one of the best dramas I've ever seen! AMAZING! 5/5.

  • it's very satisfying to get your geek references, like the "now, why would I do that?" (if I'm bulletproof) bit.

  • lol. yeah only true comic fans will appreciate a line like that.

  • This was beautiful and I have to say

the best one of all i've watched. This hit home

in several ways it damn near depressed me. great work.

  • I am speachless. I too am a film-maker but all I've ever done is horror, I suppose horror is one of the easiest genres but I do intend to move on to more complex styles. I was wondering, what kind of camera do you use? Anyway,Great work!! 5/5

  • sony hd-fx1. its a nice camera. and thanks man.

  • Wow! This was so very well done! I have been thoroughly impressed with your "comedic" takes on the world of superheroes. But by this, I'm taken aback. Wow! I am totally speachless.

    Thank you!

  • That was absolutely fantastic. Great job!

  • Wow, Chris this is an amazing feature. Poignant story telling with heart on the views of the world that was and the world that is and how a heroes past , present and future fades, but is not forgotten. - Keep up the great work man - Sketcher

  • loved it great work dude!

  • That was a great film you made.

  • lol him on a toilet seet thtas just rong but funny

  • I got a little misty eyed from that. Guess I'm a softie that way. A very beautiful story and very well acted. I enjoyed this.

  • Very sentimental, love it! Good job Chris.

  • I agree. I have been watching Blinky for some time now and the quality of the films improve. What I would like to see from Blinky is some originality. This is certainly a giant leap. Many of the films are pieces of what we have seen in other films, but this was a much better character study. I would like to see Chris take a giant leap from what he has done. I know he has it in him because of the quality look of the films. He will find a voice and I can't wait to see that happen.

  • I've only been watching blinky for a few hours now, but I completely agree with you

  • Hey Blinky, long time no speak. I dig the film noir-esque setting. This had subtle tones of Watchmen (particularly the character Hollis Mason). Keep up the good work.

  • Bravo man.Excellent work.Where is your agent and you'd better be getting paid.hahahah.Seriously,great job!

  • A very noble effort. You definitely have the drive and resourcefullness to reach your potential. This is your best yet.

By the way, did you study filmmaking? Where and for how long? What aspects did you learn, and which were the most prominent?

  • no i didnt study film. everything i know, i learned on my own. and thanks too.

  • Has it just been trial and error then, or have you done some research into filmmaking (i.e. lighting, sound, editing, shot composition, etc.)?

What equipment do you use? What camera? Sound equipment? Editing system?

  • i love ur films
