@MrMrmonsterguy they didn't "invent" black metal. they did term the name and influenced black metal heavily later one when it popped up as a legitimate genre. many bands influenced the black metal sound (early sepultura and sarcofago for example as some of the not so apparent ones) as well as thrash metal, which has many proprietors to its "invention".

Actually back in the day they weren't classified as Black Metal, they just had an album called Black Metal and are the main inspiration for Black Metal and are bassically proto-Black Metal just like Black Sabbath are proto-Doom. Also, noone who knows anything about music would call Zeppelin soft rock

@WolfmotherSongs I think they're more Thrash or Speed Metal. Which pretty much goes for the "1st Wave of Black Metal" in general. True Black Metal didn't really come until the 2nd wave in the early 90s (I think).

But it doesn't matter anyway, Venom kicks ass reguardless. Call me oldschool, but 1980s Speed and Thrash Metal is pure badass. So is early Death and Black metal.
