At 3:37, right to the right of the rock, you can see a huge guy with a white shirt. That's JYD , Toronto Raptors NBA player and self professed BIGGEST HOGAN FAN. He used do Hogan like interviews with the Toronto media even years before this, during games. I'll never forget him marking out when Hogan hulked up. What a moment!!!!!!!

I didnt think hogan could carry his height in the match but he did and more. best crowd in a long time. @shadexknight : I have a working theory that I think the only reason why The Rock agreed to do this match with John Cena at WM28 is because it will be in his hometown of Miami, Florida. Which means that the already brainwashed 'WWE Universe' will most likely treat John Cena the way The Rock was treated in this match. So The Rock gets his Wrestlemania X-8 payback 10 years later against THIS generation's Hulk Hogan in John Cena. It would be funny if it backfires on him and they cheer Cena.

Yeah but didn't Hogan already jog for Warrior for the same reason? And how did that go? Hogan will NEVER be topped as far as an icon goes. That's why the crowd wanted Hogan to win. Vince has tried twice now and failed both times. So my point is, what's the point in having Hogan drop this match? It served no purpose other than to rob people of what they wanted at that time.

The only positive of having Hogan lose was to prove to the naysayers that Hogan can and does put people over in high-profile matches. OMG! I get so excited when I watch videos like this! THIS is what the WWF was all about. I could watch videos like this all day long and never get tired of them. It really sucks that I have to watch old WWF videos on YouTube to get any kind of entertainment out of wrestling these days. JR was so annoyingly biased towards the Rock... trying to almost hide the fact that the audience was behind Hogan... I was at this event and I can tell you, on the taped version the audience volume was turned way down especially during Hogan's entrance... I still love The Rock and I respect the hell out of him for not being offended by the fans loving Hogan... The Rock is a true entertainer and only cared about giving the fans what they wanted to see

You're right, the crowd was solidly behind Hogan...although I think you can partially forgive JR because he was only following the script. JR always calls in favour of the faces, and Lawler cheers the heels...I don't think either of them expected that the crowd would totally ignore the face/heel setup for this match (ie. Hogan = heel, Rock = face) and cheer for Hogan from start to finish.

@alfred8730 Good point. That's not nearly as bad as the Rock's "people's elbow" landing nowhere near where Hogan was. Props to Hogan for selling such a poorly executed move. Not even the cameraman could cover up rock's sloppiness. The rock may as well have been out of town with the distance that the elbow landed from Hogan. Rock is either afraid or has incredibly poor depth perception. Watch every fan still deny this on here though and say the rock landed it right on target. lol!!!!!!!!

@SupermanRM27 Seriously, look closely at the end of the match with the elbow. Replay it and pause it several times and then hopefully you learn for your sake. Also think about where the camera is positioned when the elbow lands on that opposite end and the effect the camera work has on trying to cover up and authenticate the elbow landing. We all know it's predetermined, but the rock should at least make contact on Hogan with the elbow and try to make it look like a powerful drop. Sell!!

I remember when I first saw this. Didn't really expect the crowd to react the way it did.

Was a great match, and the crowd just helped elevate it to one of the most memorable in the history of the business.

Just when everyone wasn't sure how the Canadians would be towards a Wrestlemania event, they turned it into one of the most energetic in history. I remember the crowd being into every single one of the matches, whether they were minor or major. It was truly a great event.
