firefox is only slightly slower than chrome.i've seen those tests and i don't actually even trust them.everything about opera is a lie especially the javascript.the speed was just awful -even worse than ie.safari was as fast as chrome the first three days then it started crashing and couldn't load some pages.ie 8's not as bad as the tests claim.javascript is not bad,though crashes most often but good speed.opera's the worst ever!firefox-outstanding security,most customizable,awesome add-ons.

I was a huge firefox fans for years and I tried to be loyal to firefox but chrome is much better. Firefox is stil a memory hog that keeps consuming too much memory.  Sorry fireofox I might try it once you have firefox 5 but it's chrome for now. I totally ditched firefox on the mac it fails big time.

For what I do and what I need, IE beats all the other browsers straight out of the box without having to download add ons and customizing everything. I can't think of any features other browsers have that I want or need. Page load speeds would be nice, but other than that, I can't think of anything. If I wanted to save space like chrome or opera, people should try pressing f11 on IE, it's better cause the tabs and address bar hide themselves when you're not using them.

I'd waste more time learning how to use all the shortcuts of the new browsers than I would save from their faster speeds. I like IE's ctr + k shortcut which allows me to duplicate a tab with all it's history. I don't think firefox even has an add on that can do that and I don't think any other browser has that either. Then there's the ctrl + shift + p which opens a browser that lets me browse without storing histry. I use it to run two facebook accounts at once. No other browsers do that.

For what I do IE does what it needs to do, and it does it well. I fail to see why people think IE is crap. Who cares about benchmark tests? Ok I can notice how opera is much snappier when loading pages, but it's only like a few miliseconds faster at most. Who loads hundreds of pages anyway? I just do email that's one page and then facebook which is maximum 20 pages switching around. At most I'd save 5 seconds of my life with Opera. What good does that do?

Ok, so I was testing this so called 1st place browser known as opera 10.53 and pages loaded quickly and yeah it's great, but when it came to the facebook apps that I play, such as country story, it was crap. Whenever I fed an animal the pointer would disappear and I wouldn't be able to do consecutive clicks. I know everyone is gonna think I'm crazy, but firefox was also crap at that and IE actually beat em both. I don't feel like learning a new browser for 1-5milisecond faster page loads.

I used to be a big Firefox fan, but once Chrome came out, I had a new favorite. Personally, I don't mind the lack of add-ons and customization. I like the sleek look and use small programs instead of add-ons. Chrome is definitely faster than Mozilla and I've never experienced issues due to memory usage. But I do keep Firefox hanging around as certain webpages are not Chrome compatible.

I've never used Opera before. Anyone want to give me their own opinion on it?

Chrome is the best browser I have ever used. Incredibly fast speeds, never slows down from use (unlike firefox) and for the most part very easy to use. There are issues, for example with bookmarking, some bugs and also the lack of customizability of themes, and also the lack of add-ons which is a huge boost for firefox. Either way, I use chrome all the time.

IE8 I get random tabs lockign up on load. FireFox has had issues with flash and silverlight in 3.0 on for me (a pain w/Netflix!). Safari is for a closed system I don't use (Apple). Chrome is by Google - and people say Microsoft is the evil monopolist! Google is rapidly gaining control over all your computing life(that kind of scares me).

So, as al FF user, I am switching to Opera. Almost didn't, but learned to fix YouTube by deleting cookies. Like how Opera runs so far.
