  • juvinille eastern bluebird

  • @craigthecrab Not sure we get those in England!

  • Juvenile robins do not develop the red breast untill later on. Robins are very competitive.

They even attack their own reflection in a mirror!

The juviniles would get attacked by older robins if they had red breasts.

  • Thanks for that, we have lots of robins in the garden. I put out seed every day and in the spring when they have their young they take it into the bushes to feed them.

  • In the winter (such as we are having in the UK at the moment) robins need fatty foods to keep them going. Because there is no salt in french stick bread, pieces soaked in milk is good.

Grated cheese as long as it isn`t salty.

    Mozzarella is ok, but expensive.

  • I think its a young song thrush not a robin the other 2 goldfinches

  • I suppose it's possible, we do have thrushes in the paddock in front of the house. I'm trying to get some video of them but they won't stay still!!

  • That bird is a song thrush. Now go read the poem "The Darkling Thrush" by Thomas Hardy. He wrote it about the song thrush.

  • Hi there, this is a baby Robin.

Nice pair of Goldfinches there also..
