There is genuine demand for supersonic planes. From Tokyo to New York, Tokyo to London, etc. We will one day have some, and Concorde technologies will serve as foundation for them.
Concorde will not serve as a foundation - too much has happened since and it will almost definitely pull information from military aircraft. Concorde will not be ignored however.
You need to sort out the sonic boom before even considering a new aircraft - easier said than done.
i see no point in flying a concord type aircraft from state to state in the US
but for the rest of the world who actually bother to travel beyond there own country, crossing the Atlantic or flying to Australia etc, makes it perfectly logical to have another concord.
its these people, if given the choice, who benefit from SS travel. sonic boom is irrelevant. its to cross great distances in very little time. who wants to sit in an aircraft for several hours?
It's spelt Concorde - and yes, the sonic boom is a problem.
I know how it works - coast to coast etc. It is more logical to find a solution to the boom, than rather spend the many billions required to make an aircraft with a limited market. The vast majority of countries will not benefit that much. It would still be expensive travel.
Limited use of an aircraft - no way will it be done.
You make my comment to look illogical - when it is actually your comment that is laughable.
if the information i have here is correct, 50-70 planes cross the Atlantic alone, each day.
I don't know what's laughable about my comment? you are the one who wants to invest money in to changing the laws of physics.. The sonic boom isn't gonna go away. But if you want to try, then by all means have ago.
Myself, i'd rather put money in to building a really fast plane, or a low earth orbit vehicle.
You're out of your mind. Efficiency today will only get up premium business class ticket prices - no airline or aircraft manufacturer will be interested.
I'm talking about efficiency, you seem to be questioning me about efficacy.
Concorde took 100 people, well BA's did anyway. AF had either 108 or 92. A bigger aircraft with more people, in more space, with more luggage, means more work for the engines, meaning less efficiency.
Breaking the sound barrier takes a lot of work in terms of engine load - it's just not efficient enough to be mainstream yet.
The future lies in sub-orbital travel, where much higher speeds can be reached and the only sonic boom occurs on decent. The problem is developing a practical aircraft that can do this without changing existing infrastructure to much.
As time goes by, you get used to seeing all the videos that people post on here, some funny, some political, some indiferent. Then, out of the blue, somebody puts an absolute GEM of a video on to You Tube. Thanks for posting, finding this video has made my day.
What a jem! Astounding sir! I had heard that they had done this at least once. Nice to see that some one has the incredible "insider" footage. From a pilot who wishes she was still around, thank you for sharing this with us.
What documentary is this from?

these planes dont have any speed brakes they put them on one and the speed pushed it back down

They do have speed breaks, cutting edge ones at that.

And the boom - it will go.

Efficacy?
'Concorde' used just as much fuel as a conventional aircraft to cross the Atlantic.
America lost 'interest' in SS travel originally simply because the Russians beat them too it.

The flights to Washington started in late 1976. The first regular flight was in spring 1976 and that was to Bahrein.
qwertdr 2 years ago
No doubt. But this was the first conncection between London and Washington D.C. operated supersonically.
BA002 2 years ago
But this was used to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the first regular commercial service, of which was to Bahrein.
Not to IAD, which followed after - making it the second.
