Okay, And So It Goes is my all time favorite Billy Joel song...and I think he did do a fine job of it. It is by no means better than the original, it lacked the emotion needed but not unsurprising considering his age, but he did make it his own, which I can respect. There were points that I thought he went too far with the vocals, its meant to be a simple, otherwise it takes away from the depth. I do give the kid props, he did it justice in my opinion, considering the song and original artist.
dont get me wrong, this kids a good singer, but he just killed the song. he sung it out of key, mixed the song up too much, left half of the song out, and he didnt put any feeling into it
HE didnt cut the song, the producers did. also He was also only 17 singing this, how is someone that young supposed to feel this song really? he didnt even choose it, paula did.. leave the kid alone
Just to clarify, its not "His" song. Its Billy Joel's song and Billy sings it with more emotion than this kid will ever be able to understand. He made it too much of a pop tune.
I'm with you. He's belting it. This is a song about realization that the person you love is wanting to go. The soaring vocal flourishes do not match the sentiment..
