Regardless, Homer did not claim to have "predicted" the event, whereas the story above has Jesus "predicting" something in a document written 40 years after Jesus' death. There is NO pre-tribulation "rapture" of the saints of God. This is a relatively new heresy only about 170 years old. Those that teach this are guilty of adding and/or taking away from the prophesy of the book of Revelation, which the book of Revelation has dire consequences for those that do this. I have heard all the scriptures of those that try to justify the false doctrine of a pre-tribulation rapture. You have taken the scripture you have given me out of it's context. Who says we will suffer God's wrath during Daniel's 70th week? Jesus PLAINLY told His the churches that ONLY those that endure to the end shall be saved. Jesus spoke to his generation that world will end, not to the future generations. Every prophet has proclaimed end of world for their generation. You claim this generation is going to end? I think people would be more attracted to Jesus if they didn't have it shouted at them. When I was young I was turned away from the Lord by people shouting at me while talking about the Lord. I was a missionary for nearly 40 years and I learned that love is the greatest persuader and that Jesus has to be in your heart before you can "live good". Rom. 8 says it's a result of Him being there, not you trying to just be a better person. Let's ask Him for more love to convince people that He cares.

When I was 19 I felt like I was 50. I had no interest in anything and I doubted there was any love in the world. For 3 months I only answered yes or no questions and was totally inside of myself.

Then someone told me to just ask Jesus to take over my life. (short version) I didn't believe in Him, but I tried it anyway as I was desperate. Within one week, I went from being a nervous wreck who chewed her fingernails till they bled, to having complete peace. That was 40 yrs ago. Still peaceful.
