Thanks, I just get sick of the negative comments. while I might not be the biggest fan of S. C., she's no doubt good and has acheived a rate of success that speaks for itself. Like only a handful of artists, she can do pretty much what she wants musically.

Nothing wrong with this song OR Sheryl Crow. Some of these "expert" critics would find fault with any song and any version. Or is it the fact that she dares to do a cover of a sacred song? I wonder how many of the haters are even as remotely talented or as successful as Sheryl Crow. My guess would be less than one. Go to any karoke bar and you can hear lots of gals who sing the same as Sheryl did in this video. And such lame dynamics...she sounds like she would rather be polishing her nails than up on stage trying to sing in tune, which she doesnt pull off.

I love the JG version of this, ever since I heard it in the mid-70s... this cover is spot-on, except for Cheryl's vox: The band is kickin it, but she's singing it with her own dentist's-office-music delivery, which has no dirt or grease or bite at all. I saw Sheryl Crow LIVE and was but a mere 5 feet away from her. This was when she was just starting to promote Tuesday Night Club. In a word, she was OK but they HYPE surrounding her was RIDICULOUS. This woman has some talent but she is NOT this big star that the media made her out to be. And most fans were duped into believing it. This version is OK but pales to the original.

Granted I'm not into cover versions and that Sheryl isn't a blues/funk/power trio person but I wished I could have seen her perform at Fraze in Dayton,Ohio several years ago. Her style,sound and magic is a throw-back to the late 60s and early 70s. Her singing style is laid back and makes you want to put your feet up on a stool on the front porch with a guitar and jam all day long on a lazy summer day. Cute gal too!
