I am willing to listen to Patti's performances on the London recording and tell you that it is good with a straight face. That production had its weaknesses, and I am not so naive to think it was perfect because it obviously wasn't, but Patti is not one of them. The creative staff on that production was responsible.

This is just me but I seriously think Norma was a good part for Patti. Maybe she was cast a bit too young? She was 40 when she started it and Norma's 50 is she not? But I seriously think Patti gave one of the best performances of her career. Alongside Mama Rose and Eva.

Am I the only one who be liking this song? I'm excited because I'm getting Les Mouche for christmas!

Actually, I saw Patti in Gypsy and let me just say she was AMAZING!!!!! She and Betty Buckley are in my Top Five Fav Actresses, though I prefer Betty the most in Norma's role, second was Glenn, but they are all last, and Elaine Page last, she is really talented, but I am not a huge fan

I think this is something akin to the one woman show she did while she was on Broadway in Evita. She did quite a few disco songs and climbing on the piano in that too, at least according to Leslie Kritzer's homage I saw a couple years ago in Grennwich. :)
