We own this car so and did a fair amount of research prior to purchase. The turbo has major problems if using non-premium fuel. Advantage to the base engine is the use of regular gas but the fuel economy averages just under 18 MPG. Overall fit and finish is above average (though some trim keeps popping off). I am not sure why there is a sport setting on this car as I feel that it's VERY underpowered (try passing on the highway and you'll see what I mean). Ride quality is above average. Good car
That gap in the seats is present in every luxury car that has an adjustable thigh support, including the BMW 3 and 7 series. The 3 gap is softly leather upholstered. The 7 gap is plastic.
People voted up your comments for a reason because people are addicted to horsepower and large numbers on paper. Continue your tangent on low end torque if you like, but that's WHY CADILLAC MADE AN OPTIONAL ENGINE AVAILABLE, YA FUCKING DOUCHE! Last time I checked 295lb-ft @ 2000 RPM is an excellent amount of low end torque, which puts the SRX ahead of the RX350, Audi Q5, and Mercedes GLK. God damn scum. Understand the product.
im sick of him saying those thigh supports catch crumbs and loose change....who eats in there $50,000 car? and i seriously doubt they have a quarter lying around.
Sure. Because everybody who buys the SRX is going to be towing a 30 foot boat. You stupid scum sucking cunt, you should realize the target market of this CUV is not shopping based on your useless parameters.
You're an idiot if you think that the target market of this CUV cares about torque, horsepower, or any type of acceleration. I think you'll find that people shopping for an SRX do so based on features, technology, styling, etc.
You're stupid to believe that Mrs. Winston and her family walk into the Cadillac dealer thinking "Wow, this SRX sure is low on torque compared to the competition. We're leaving."
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
uhh, you're missing the fucking point. It has adequate torque.
You seem to think that a family oriented vehicle needs all this power, for what? The 3.0 has plenty of power, you seem to think the segment caters to people looking for the best performance, you're wrong, plain and simple. If GM thought it needed more power they would've planned out the engine options accordingly, and OH WAIT, IT LOOKS LIKE THEY DID! THERE IS A TURBOCHARGED ENGINE AS AN OPTION! ARE YOU HAPPY?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Alright assbag? You've embarrassed yourself enough. Soccer moms who buy this cuv get their hair done at the salon before picking up the kids from school. They don't test 0-60 and full throttle highway merging.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
1. Not unsuitable, perfectly adequate, do you really think the target market is going to be racing around in a CUV? The optional 2.8 turbo will more than satisfy the needs of people who want a little more pep.
2. NO TORQUE AT LOW RPM is non descriptive; pull up a power chart and then we'll truly see if it has "no torque at low RPM". It's true that the competitors WITH LARGER ENGINES make more torque down low, but it doesn't mean the 3.0 has NO TORQUE. There's a difference.

actually 223 lb-ft of torque and moreover 260 hp is VERY respectable for a displacement of only 3 liters. Furthermore, how many people buy an SRX to race around in? It might not be fastest in its class but that doesn't matter. The vehicle weighs 4500 lbs with AWD; 4200 without. You're clearly a dumbass.
th3ha1ogod you are clearly right the srx has plenty of power for a suv 260HP for a suv is very good and 223lb-ft torque that is good for a 3 liter so clearly you are right I am a car person and I can see that you are to thank's for the good comment.
continue.... page 5C I will pick Nisaan Murano, Infiniti EX 35 , Infiniti FX45, Acura RDX, or Lexus RX over the Caddy just because they are better cars, better put together and more reliable... and guess what they are even cheaper...
WTF... those busines people from GM, who fuked up the good name of the American made cars... Do they think that I'm stupid...???
Dude i don't like this car neither! This car is almost 48K $. Given Cadillac reliability scores and not that great execution, the price tag is just too high.
For the money I can but Acura, Infiniti, Audi, Mercedes or even Lexus... And all those are better than the XRS.
This car was going to be much more attractive if it was priced better somewhere around 35-37K $ for the top trim and mey be 32-34K for mid trim and 29-30 K $ for the basic trim.
Well It looks good, but for nearly $50,000 I would buy the Mercedes-Benz ML350 Bluetec ....I expected better from Caddy since they did so well with the CTS. People maybe more inclined to go for the CTS wagon instead of the SRX.
I'd really be interested to see how this vehicle compares with the over-hauled 2011 Lincoln MKX...I'd disappointed that the transmission ruins a decent competitor in this segment
Basically, Kelsey Mays is saying that this car is a piece of shit. Crappy performance and quality. This car is a prime example that Cadillac is not doing so well financially.
GM keeps coming out with these Cadillac products since they can make more profits, but in fact they should concentrate their target markets on the general public who wants affordable, reliable, and relatively stylish cars.
shut the fuck up kelsey may, wat u kno about car u fag, whenever i am seein ur dumbass report somtin all u do is bitch about US car, go back to ur mom basement u doche lil faggot --T MOnEY--
I kind of find it weird how Kelsey Mays always finds numerous flaws in many(or rather all) of the American cars he does reporting on. It seems as much as GM is trying to improve(which it is!), there are still biased reviewers out there, such as Kelsey Mays. If you look at the review he did on the LaCrosse and I beleive the 2008 malibu, he finds some drawbck or the other. I mean come on, which car doesn't have it's flaws?, they all do some way or the other!
I like the cadillac but I agree that it's not a nice as its competitors, especially the Audi Q5 (more sporty), the Lexus RX (cushy) or the great looking Infiniti Ex37.
The styling is a bit ugly i think but some people might object. And the interior looks a bit downclass compared to the competition.
