  • ashley cooper pussy crash.....this pussy crash.....just me are aussie drivers all pussys

  • @funkymcmunky ...and then there's people like you that have no respect for these awful situations.

  • just the possible price of being a race car driver.

  • ouch

  • This was a major accident and I don't think people should judge. Accidents happen all the time in the industry but unfortunately sometimes they take the life of the driver.

Still the sport is much safer than driving YOUR own road car down to the shopping centre.

  • @TheRayDredge Not really. If you count the number of drivers of sport cars killed and divide them by the total number of sport car drivers in the same series, you'll fund a much, much higher death/injury rate than in the general population.

  • @lotwyo from my own racing experience, Racing is much safer than driving a street car. Sadly he was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

  • Its wierd, doesn't look that hard a hit on the screen. Obviously was tho...

  • I still don't get it how he died with that.. i've seen so much worse and they walk away.. its just hard to believe

  • R.I.P mate..

  • @DominantSilverback

Mate have a bit of fucking respect. RIP Mark Porter

  • @DominantSilverback Not fake. Not gay. RIP Mark Porter.

  • @DominantSilverback fuck off cunt

  • @DominantSilverback ur a dick fuckface how would u like it if people said that about ur death he DIED Your a dick.

  • Did the grey car just take that corner too fast and lose control of the car?

  • @TittyTittyBangBangXX Either that, or as it is just beyond a crest, he saw him to late, steered to avoid but the back stepped out when he went over the crest.

    R.I.P Mark Porter

  • I know the second driver peronally, (David Clarke) he and i have spoken about the cracsh before, and the after math. It seems that Mark was killed almost instantly as his neck was broken on impact. A tragedy. But David didnt get out unscathed either. 2 month(i think) coma, 2yr rehab. Still suffers with some on going issues. But, he is still alive. RIP Mark porter.

  • @tittytittybangbangxx yes he did this is aussi

  • He didn't get hit on the driver side

  • @TittyTittyBangBangXX Yes he did... Right hand drive car.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh wow, I forgot that there were 2 drivers in this series.

  • it isnt a hard crash

  • @markie19921 You only have to fall 2 feet to break your neck. Someone hits your car at 30k/ph at the right angle and you can break your neck.

  • just saying but he isn't dead? the commentator says hes in hospital and stableised?

  • @PredSpread he died later due to injuries

  • @corky7ca It's because of the crumble zone, if you Crash and your car is all smushed and looks like shit, you have more of a chance of surviving than if your car looks just beat up, but not as bad

  • I love watching racing but it's always sad when one of the drivers dies. It's amazing how some crashes look like nothing and yet the driver dies and some crashes that look like noone could survive and they walk away. R.I.P Mark Porter

  • Porter, not PorterS!

  • thumbs if you searched for the red button they told you to press

  • Fail driver test visions!

  • Absolutely the worst place for a race car to come to rest. Sideways on to the track and on quite a high speed corner.

That's one failing on most race cars, side impact protection (see Alex Zanardi).

  • Porter's car it doesn't seem to react that much when hit by the other car, but the damage is obviously catastrophic. I wonder whether the roll cage had been damaged in the preceeding accident?

Either way, injuries from being hit in the side like that are the most difficult to protect drivers against. Poor chap.

  • R.I.P.

  • I think everyone deep down inside wants to see someone die in a motorsport race! Case in point-how many people brag about how so and so won the race?A few I'm sure. How many people brag,in graphic detail, about how they were witness to someone dying in a race?EVERYONE!!!

  • @everthinka your telling me there are people out there that were watching this thinking, gee, i really hope this man dies? thats fucking sick and anybody thinking that are a waste of oxygen.

  • #VLW

  • when did this happen? i feel the cars should be able to take hits like that today

  • @Cappacino1000 2006 or 2007 i don't remember exactly. Tragically that was a commemoration race for Peter Brock which died in another crash in a rally.

  • Rip Mark Porters

    tremendo tonto el otro

  • the fact is that if they had the steering wheel on the side that the REST OF THE world has, the guy'd have survived.

  • @phoks71 actually i think its close to 50/50 in steering wheel locations.. could very easily be wrong though

  • @phoks71 But that is the "right side" to have the wheel, its even in the name ;)

  • @phoks71 Idiot.

  • @phoks71 The fact is that you're a fucking idiot

  • @phoks71 and if you have your brain where most of the people have it, your comment wouldn't have happened...

  • @phoks71 - Spoken like a know-nothing NASCRASH fan. NASCRASH crapwagons are prone to oversteer, meaning the driver's side is more likely to be exposed.

  • @phoks71 Something like 74 countries use right hand drive cars, WHAT A DUMB COMMENT TO MAKE HERE.

Your not that much of a bright spark are you?

  • RIP.

  • does anyone know what year this was in?

  • @KyleBuschFan185 2006!

  • R.I.P. Mark, neighbour and the person who got me into motorsport. ALways suck when someone you know dies in motorsport, but, as his mum and the rest of his family said, he died what he loved doing, on the worlds greatest track.

  • this is the reason left side driving is the wrong side. They will never learn

  • @arox123 If the car spun the other way in right hand drive the exact same thing would have happened, idiot!

  • @arox123

Enter 'Keith Odor' in youtube search. Right side driving doesn't solve the problem.

  • @arox123 Ahhh the car is right hand drive. not left hand drive. The impact was into the drivers door. In a circuit race it doesnt matter what side the driver sits on as an accident has equal chance of impacting either side of the car. Were not dumb and just drive laps around an oval track.

  • The point here is that even with a state of the art roll cage and protective head gear etc a crash can still kill someone. It takes very little force to cause a human fatal head or neck injuries. So when I see yet another noob on the news who dies from street racing I have no sympathy for stupidity.

  • @pathosbedlam he was not street a racer he was a pro on a race track and you sir are a wanker so stop breathing and just die .

  • @672119 You sir are a noob, and I am guessing that is the only time you will ever be called sir. I never said Mark Porters was a street racer. Try understanding what is being said before you let your guilty conscience open it's mouth. I was making the point that even in a racing event where safety measures are everywhere, you can still die, so why risk your lives in standard road cars. With a youtube name that's random numbers I am guessing your too scared to let people know who you realy are.

  • Rest in peace.

  • I was there, This happened right in front of me! At first the crowd went wild but when there was no movement everyone went silent except for some idiot giving a hard time to the poor hapless official first on the scene. It wasnt that cool really, not when someone dies. RIP Mark.

  • How many people have died from driving round and round in a circle going nowhere to please people who go there in hopes of seeing a good crash.? Not worth it.

  • @tedmon11 lol at you.. this track is not an oval...

  • Arteddie: the cars are going through that corner at well over 250 kph so your pretty stuffed no matter the rollcage

  • to be honest these cars cant have a very good roll cage. Its smashed that car right in.

  • @arteddie Ok Roll cages are not perfect and any point impact is always going to do bad things to a race car. I have watched these cars fly apart in a 270Kph crash and have the driver get out unhurt because the roll cage did its job perfectly. For proof of this look at Fabian Coultard's crash at the 2010 Bathurst 1000. A sudden stop type impact expecialy on the drivers door (where a gap clearly needs to be left to let the driver in/out) is always going to be worse for the driver.

  • @arteddie That tends to happen when 1350kilos hits you at 250kph. These cars are a complete spaceframe chassis that is made to look like their roadgoing brothers. They use no part of the original shell and their rollcages are state of the art.

  • Well if you are stupid enough to drive at high speeds in a car.... then you are stupid enough to die

  • @frankmat idiot

  • @frankmat your car likely isn't able to withstand a freeway crash at 70-80mph...and yet you're stupid enough to drive it.

  • @jetstream01 comparing controlled driving on a freeway in lanes.... to 150mph racing? Nice one Poindexter.

  • @frankmat bitch

  • These cars are not safe...

  • @dipstick3031 A point impact into the side door of most any race car will always be dangerous. Room clearly needs to be left for the driver to get in and out. Even if there was roll bars across the impact zone the energy of that crash would still have transfered to Mark and given him sereious injuries.

  • @zookyguy Ok.. Now I realize its right hand drive... But still you must admit this look like a survivable impackt.. But sometimes the blow just gives an unlucky result.. RIP

  • I wonder if he died because he unstrapped himself to get out.

  • @tryithere he died you stupid fuck thats why it says fatal

  • people have these HUGE incidents and crashes where they get out ok, but ones where you think 'ok thats bad, but he/she should recover' they die in :S

  • Ford Won 2010, rip mark porter

  • Gordon you are an ass hole

  • Roadkill!

  • R.I.P.

  • he did later that night i was close to a race marshall u told me of the news at round 7 pm he died at the hospital with his family beside him dark day in AUSTRALIAN MOTORSPORT ALSO WE ALL WAS SHOCKED AND DREAM WE LOST THE LATE KING BROCKY IF THAT WASNT HARD ENOUGHT WE LOST POTTER HE WAS GREAT MAN R.I.P

  • RIP

  • did he die later cus this said he was in hospital

  • I care.. From Britain. When a driver dies it doesn't matter what form of racing you follow. Plus this is Bathurst, like Le Mans, Indy 500 and Monaco it exists beyond the sport. RIP Mark Porter

  • @thelostlibertine well said.

  • got to be careful Americans...nascar is a lot different to our sport

  • rest in peace, you will be missed. you were a great sport and a great talent. respect.

  • shit can happen .....yah

    RIP

  • wow what year was this

  • @mxmayhem 2006 - a very tragic year in V8 supercars.

  • RIP man !!

    Rest in Peace !!

  • how did he die?? didn't the roll bar protect him ??? i can't undesrtand

  • @giorgos4paokara that part of the track the cars are touching on 200 kilometers per hour and these cars weigh just under 1.5 metric tons of steel far more than most proper race cars no one would survive those forces in their door roll cage or not !!!!!!!!! R.I.P. mark :(

  • @112choice imagine comming from forrest corner to the pit lane 300km/h and hitting someone

  • @giorgos4paokara its the angle, the roll bar did protect him, the impact knocked him around and i think thats wahts caused it, RIP... Btw look at fabian coulthards crash 2010 at bathurst to see how good the roll cages are lol

  • dude... ouch i bet he was like after the first crash... phew im alive and then OMG 2 cars hit hit .... no seriously tho RIP

  • @MrAmore94 yes it is in australia afterall

  • Rest in Peace Mark

  • it is a terrible thing, however racers know the risk. they deal with this every time the enter the car or bike! you just take it with a pich of salt! they are tough lads!! R.I.P.

  • you dont put this on youtube he has a family you dont no how they feel you sould take this off youtube it is cool or just a bad crash its when some one lost a life

  • well it is important for people to see that you can actually die. The other option is to act like nothing happens

  • monkeys with egos...

  • They must place drivers in the middle of the car! If you are unlucky and get hit driver side you are dead.

  • easy to say now, but if he only hadn't spun the car and gone for the right corner, and missed the driver's side...

  • Wha65 You're a dick. who told you he took the belts off. Data Shows he was trying to restart the car at the point of impact. Mark was a racer like the rest and want to keep on racing. He was a top bloke an accomplished driver I'll never forget.

  • What the fuck do you expect? They're Australian/American built cars should of used a Volvo LOL RIP

  • I might be an idiot but compared to big F1 crashes these doesn't look very serious. Still they are fatal. Why is that?

  • Comment removed

  • @spindrift2009 Stock Car Hicks? These are Australians.. They wear wearing protection..

  • @spindrift2009 hey fuck you dick head im no hick and these arent stock cars they are v8 super cars get your facts right dick head i remember this day it was a sad day i dont know about u but wen something like this happens in australia we all mourn

  • f1 manager online!  --> gpro. se/?id=127141 <-- (without the spaces)

  • that was scary to see again... i am not proud of it, but i was there, and it was scary! R.I.P mark

  • how did he die?

the chash didnt look that bad....

  • @InfernoPhoenix322 maybe the steering wheel is on the left side in this series, so the second hit got right to him

  • @AddictedToStangs Yes, they do happen to use right hand drive.

  • why did they have roll cage bars along the drivers side of the car?

  • @golfinguy55555 ..... maybe protection to the driver?.... fuckin moron.

  • Here, watch this footage of a road car at normal speeds. 2:08 onwards is the start of the section of track, 2:12 is sulman, followed by the dip and the section where the accident happened (about 2:17). At slow road speeds, you have less than 2 seconds from the time you can see out of the corner till the point the accident happened. Be difficult to avoid a car across the road at those speeds, let alone when traveling 3 times faster and firing out of the corner on the other side of the road.

  • @nicko455 Well i think that was foolish of clarke, because he killed mark porter by crashing into his car, i think david clarke's racing license should be revoked.

  • @mat2000100 Show some respect you moron. Ever driven the circuit? Sulman park is a flat out (170km/h +) entry into a blind corner as it comes over a rise and dips to the left heading for mcphillamy. You cant see the road ahead of you until you are through the corner. Clark was already sliding sideways when he hit porter, he came over the top to see a car right in the middle of the racing line and tried hard to avoid him. A terrible accident, nothing more. Note, clark was also seriously injured.

  • @mat2000100 You've got no idea what your talking about!!!

  • @mat2000100 You've got no idea what your talking about!!! You have no idea what David went through then and ever since. He did not kill him, it was an accident.

  • It isn't nice seeing a fatal crash on video but seeing for yourself that's really sad. I was right there and the first thing I was talking about was that there were 3 cars involved I had no idea it was that serious or that Porter even died untill I got home and I was told about his death

  • I just got done watching the Paul Dana fatal crash. I have no idea why drivers are not INSTANTLY told to slow WAY the F down when there is a crash on track via radio. Alot of deaths would be prevented if this were done. I mean like crash, BAM, slow the F down to 20 guys RIGHT NOW!

  • @kidballistic ease response:

things rappen in thousends of seconds. sometimes its not the speed or the violence of the crsh that kills, sometaimes its HOW or WHERE the hit happened

  • @kidballistic it's not quiet that easy fuckhead.

  • That was the softest crash ever

  • that was a soft crash comparred to others. Why he died? cardiac failure? (sorry my english is basic)

  • When Porters was against the wall it looked like a NASCAR Pit stop!

  • @ROBLOXdude95 Yeah it was pretty frantic. In OZ it's right side driver.

It looks slow, but it's not an illusion. The other car hit him at nearly 200kph/ 125mph into the side panels. The kinetic energy transferred to his body was unbelieveable. Sadly, he also took his seat belts off, just prior to the hit. He was about to get out of the car. Mark was under the impression, the other drivers were warned of the crash. He received shocking head injuries.

  • wow.. Are these cars made of paper?

  • @dipstick3031 idk lets think that one out k.?

  • @nicko455 Where did you hear that? A rolling tyre stops faster than a locked one, he should have just braked.

  • If it wasnt english car, maybe he would be alive? :O

    R.I.P

  • @kahur10 its an Australian car

  • @kahur10 english car?? wat u smokin??? its aussie mate

  • u can clearly see him moving his head after the first crash and spin. his head is down. thats why I think he is trying to release his belt to get out of the car at once. I ve seen worse accidents which the drivers walked out themselves. bcs safety is really at its limits to protect drivers, pit crew, spectators and marshalls.

  • um guys who sent david clarke spinning into porter's car?

  • what kind of racing is this?

  • Its the Australian Fujitsu V8 series (although back then it was called the HPDC V8 supercars) It is the second highest level of Touring car racing in Australia

  • Be touched here is really the worst thing, and released his seatbelt after the 1st part of the crash for get out?

    really bad luck :/

    RIP mark porters.

  • I think he thought that the worst part of the accident was over and released his seatbelt to get out of the car soon. then he was hit by the coming car. or else he wldnt get such a hard impact with all the safety cage covering him and a fastened belt fixing him to the seat

  • @amokachi31 your just fucken retarded, theres noway he would of undone his seatbelt where he was, and yes u would get a pretty fucken hard impact, it killed him didnt it

  • hey why are talking that offensive? I wrote my statement and u shld write ur own. why are u talking that offensive as if I raped ur mother? I didnt even met ur mother.

    yet.

  • @amokachi31 hahaha that was a good reply haha il take that, sorry man

  • Yeh that was funny mate.

  • they should seat the drivers in the center

just like in the funny cars

  • you are so right, excellent comment.

  • Fuck yourself asshole he died and thats sad not funny.

  • RIP Mark Potter

  • In what year is this? If this was in like 2005 i dont

understand why he died. It dont seem like a big crash

  • @Shadowhawk25 dude they drive on the right side of the cars there

  • @12345senseswork Well said my friend, you summed it all up in one!

  • @12345senseswork

you obviously haven't driven on race track with a full crop of cars. it takes tremendous amounts of courage and will not to mention great skill to be successful at this level of racing

to me and to most people they are heroes

  • @12345senseswork Too right! If you take on a job, you gotta know the risks.

  • @12345senseswork Its called showing respect asshole.

  • @12345senseswork

te guardi le corse ma non ami questo sport, ed è inutile che continui a guardare questi video perchè non capirai mai. Ignorante.

You watch races on tv, but you don't love this sport. It's completely useless for you to keep on watching these videos, for you'll never understand. Jerk.

  • @12345senseswork It's because they're under the public eye, whereas soldiers aren't so much.

  • @12345senseswork if you aren't a racing fan, then they aren't going to be your hero. But for us, these drivers are heroes. Obviously nothing like soldiers or anyone in the armed forces, but they are people we do look up to. It's sad when something like this happens and your comment seems incredibly inconsiderate.

  • @12345senseswork for you and a lot of people, they are not heros, for us (race car fans) they where even before they died.

  • @12345senseswork I agree, but pro drivers don't think their hero's, This is a persona created by the fans.

  • @12345senseswork

agree, not everyone who dies young is a hero.

Hero's a people who save lives white dangering their own.

  • @12345senseswork the phrase is live by the sword die with honor

  • @12345senseswork: Yes, so do police and firefighters!

  • its mark porter u retard RIP, and why would u say something like that? karma is a real bitch mate, it comes up and bites u on the ass when u least expect it. hope u have good insurance RIP...that one was 4 u
