Thta's only something like a half swing and most high handicappers would learn a lot by playing just like this and not trying to do full, huge backswings. The lag, together with the fett action wound have this ball going something over 200 yards with a 3 wood. Its the lag, feet and body rotation doing all the work.
Check out his impact position!! The forward press is unbelieveable! That ball was compressed with the maximum amount of force! God Bless you Ben! Please let me borrow your swing for oh....about two decades!lol
I dont know how old this guy is; but he has all the elements of a good swing. Rythym, tempo, timing; and just look at that divot and listen to the sound. I would say that he hits it straight consistantly!!
I've taken plenty of lessons from Ben, and not once heard the term snap release. We've focused most of our time together on powering the golf swing with the feet and core. In fact, he signs off his emails with "sustain the lag" which sounds like the opposite. Not only that, but Ben is perhaps the nicest man on the planet ... He gives of himself constantly. Anyone who would speak ill of him has a hidden agenda, and should take that "rubbish" back to Europe.
Thank you for your post. I have ordered many vidos from M. Doyle and on each of them he took time to write a friendly and personnal message. I am missing the opportunity to meet him personnaly.
@philouvet ... ben has cut his schedule back quite a bit, but he still teaches occasionally. i'll be visiting him in March. if you can make it out to the carmel area, his lessons are a great value. much less than most instructors of his caliber, plus he gives you a DVD recording of your whole lesson to take with you....
As the club begins to build up speed and the left hip makes the first move down the target line before it turns backward, the width of the stance will hold up just fine. If you have a tendency to lose your balance, your stance might be to narrow. w w w (dot) golferbreak80 (dot) c0m
bmac thank you for your post. Even if he is not yet 86 M. Doyle is a geat teacher, and as you said a very nice man. Most of all, he is always respectful, and take a great care of others advices. Something that is missing to some contributors to this page TY
bdg299. Nice job. You attacked an 86 year old man considered by many a great teacher and by those who know him as one of the nicest people on the planet. He is a bit out of your league.
This guy cant hit it past his shadow. He carrys his diver about 170 yards. I spent 2 months with him when i was 18 years old. He shouldnt teach snap realease its to difficult to control distance. MORAD has better patterns.
you're only fooling other hackers with your "knowledge" of the golf swing. my guess is that you picked up the game recently and spent the last five or six hours researching it on youtube.
you're in no position to critique ben's swing. he's an old teaching pro for christ's sake. have some respect and try to learn from this efficient, powerful, effortless move through the ball. he produces a truly remarkable divot
This guy sucks. I am not at all impressed with his swing. Notice how the toe of the clubhead rotates completely over just after impact. He is flipping biscuits and saving the shot at the last second. Anyone can have moderate success with that.
Did you hear the compression of that shot? Notice how he hits the ball coming down and not while the club is on the ground trying to lift the ball. His divot is 4 inches or more in front of where the ball was. Doyle is the best who ever did it take a lesson from him or buy his DVD if you want to learn how to hit.
WOW...I challenge you to find a video of anyone exhibiting more clubhead lag when the shaft is horizontal. His hands are almost directly over the ball. This man is in his 70's...amazing !

I was a golf professional for 8 years. TGM is a system, but Ben Doyle is a method teacher all he teaches his snap release.
Snap release is good for compression but terrible for controlling distance. Please be careful of the way Doyle teaches. Investigate MORAD.
