Hilarious! Funniest 1970's Commercial with the Late Avery Schreiber's Mustache, Curly Hair and Comedic Presence! There are other Funny Memorable 70's Commercials that I can Remember, but This is the One! Rest in Peace, Avery. Thank You, Skipeastport. 1970's 4 LIFE!!!! Peace and HOOAH!!
The chips back in the 80's were cheap to buy. Now days everthing is getting expensive like everything else. And like the back of the bag says, noone can just eat one.
@renedelafuente123 It's called inflation. in 1975 bag of Doritos cost $1.19
Today, that same oz. bag of chips costs about $4.29. Nothing has changed, it's the same bag of chips. What has changed is that the US Dollar is weak, it now takes MORE money to buy the same exact thing.
Me too,I would buy a small bag for a quarter.Stop at this little store on the way home from school, and I either got doritos,or a snickers bar.Even the commercials were fun, back then. Now,I change the channel, when the endless prescription drug commercials come on.
they couldn't keep these stocked in the store when they first came out, same went for Pringles. My siblings and I used to have fierce fights over who ate all the Doritios and Pringles. My mom would divvy them up, it was ridiculous...ha ha ha
we used to hunt for the old glass(soda) pop bottles on the side of the road and cash them in to get candy money. some candies were 2 for a penny back then. the 70s were a glorious time.
...and Nacho cheesier, and Nacho cheesier, and Nacho cheesier, and Nacho cheesier, and Nacho saltier, and Nacho saltier, and Nacho saltier, etc.
They were so different back then. People that never tasted the old ones have no idea. In the mid-70's, I used to take my 25¢ and get a small bag from the candy store. Yep, the candy store. Whole other topic.
@ViralTuber those were the good ol' days. you could get a comic book for a quarter back then. there were far less channels on tv but always something good was not like today
@ViralTuber Yep I remember with a dollar bill I would go to the corner grocery store, Buy a 16 oz returnable bottle of pepsi, a bag of nacho cheese doritos (which is the same size as today's 99 cent bag) a candy bar, and still have a nickel left over for a piece of bubble gum.

When Doritos came out, me and my neighborhood friends would gobble up serveral bags of these every week.
Loved Avery's 'cheezy' mustache!

This was before they figured out how to reign in the Dorito's destructive power

@Ruthenya I used to hunt for bottles and then buy ten packs of Topps baseball cards for a dollar (including a stick of gum in each!)

Damn! Those where the days. For me, it was a Hostess Chocodile (a chocolate covered twinkee), a 25 cent bag of Doritos and a Lipton iced tea. Man...
