If that's your thinking, then I can about imagine how you feel regarding locking up a perv in prison. A perv that unlawfully locked up a little girl or boy.
I mean, how can locking up someone who unlawfully locked up a little kid teach us anything right?
Give me a break. You logical fallacies are too much. It is a punishment, that's all.
in no way does it go that fast, nor should it. Leathal injection takes at least five minutes when applied properly, and to any who continue to use the phrase An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind, trying losing a loved one you will never see again because of the selfish and greedy actions of one cowardly being. Your world will change dramtically.
what is wrong with you people? a criminal deserves punishment! weren't there enough reports of rapists killing children weeks after they've been released from prison? Kill those fuckers i say! If you had adaughter you would understand why the death penalty should be standart procedure for rapists!
The basis for functioning human beings is that henous acts toward other human beings shall not be tolorated. The subject being executed abandoned his right to life willfully and without a doubt in mind. A foolish amendment speaking against cruel and unusual punishment keeps worthless beings from feeling the true consequences of their actions. I support evil being destroyed. Turning this back on itself is not going to prove anyything but show your heart bleeds for the rapist, the murderer.
Sounds like someone's got a case of the Mondays, kingpimpbob. "True consequences" my ass. By your logic, some negro NFL barbarian could rape and kill as many "worthless" white women as he wanted-- he's worth more $.
Better yet, every time you make a shitty simile or botch a metaphor, someone should pull out one of your teeth to destroy the evil that is you trying to think.
A fitting punishment would never be "cruel or unusual", so you exposed yourself as a revenge-seeking retard right there.
Hehehehahaha, oh I've heard your type before, I can practically see your picket signs now, all marching infront of the prisons, crying out for the butcher of some obscene # of people to be spared. You fail to understand, the beings that commit these acts earned their place justly to be tortured, everyone has a choice, they chose to hurt. You misenterprate my logic, your NFL response is to condemn all beings, I condemn the ones who act out of their selfish desires.
You talk a lot and don't say much at all. Take away all this "beings" and "condemn" bullshit and you don't even have any complete sentences in there. Silly redneck, capital punishment is for the educated.
Aparently you are still misreading what I say so I will do you the courtesy of spelling it out blatently for you. Capital punishment, while slightly getting the job done, does not scare criminals anymore because they know they will feel nothing, and in seeing they are willing to throw their lives away anyhow, they lose nothing while victims families and victims lose everything. There is no fear anymore, because the punishment has weakened, strengthening the perpetrator in their actions.
You dont know what a redneck is. You libs attack people in America who disagree with you but you dont attack people in Iran who hang people for being gay, strange.
What is a lib? I hate muslims as much as the next guy, but you are taking this kind of far. America survived the Bush years, we'll get through the Barrack Osama ones. Just as long as Sarah Palin's new age whiskey rebellion doesn't destroy the Republican party. If you don't like this country, then you can GET OUT.
Everyone carries the right to life, but when an act of the ultimate greed is bestowed on a being that was in no way harmful to the others around it, then the thief of life has signed away their entitlment to life. The air we breath each day, the lives we lead, all are earned on our own doing.
Only the ones who cause suffering. At least in my opinion. I worry about innocents on death row as much as any reasonable man, but I believe in making unquestionably guilty murderers die. If only the process were certain and financially feasable...
@TheInfinityEffect That's not true, otherwise we wouldn't have largely gotten rid of the electric chair. Or hanging.. it's only legal in a few states as a last resort. You can only be shot in a few....
Yeah, I'm joking about it a little, but it's the American justice system. I'm still pro capital punishment.
If only it was that quick. Google the witness statements for lethal injection. The twitch voilently, gasp with pain as the 1st injection is made (by a drug which is scientifically proven to simply paralyse, not bring unconciousness). Then they squrim as the 2nd injection slowly forces air out of the lungs and begins to suffocate. Then the 3rd injection stops the heart - which takes about 3 minutes.
Go ahead and google the lethal injection - it's sick and very painful and takes a long time.
That's always a tough question. The main issue for me is the killer's family. For example, you are out with friends when suddenly you end up in a fight. You throw a punch, knock the guy down and he cracks his head off the road. He's suffered fatal injuries and dies.
You are sentenced to death (it has happend that way in the past.) Now imagine the pain and heartache suffered by your 'victims' family?
Now the courts have decided that your family deserve to go through the same. Your kids, wife..
Please let us know when in the past someone was executed because they got in a fight and the other guy, fell down, hit his head and died. Quit making crap up.
that scenario doesn't even qualify for the death penalty. def not in today's law/society. it's 2nd degree murder, or manslaughter...both of which don't qualify the accused for the dp.
Fair comment. It does not change the fact that in American law, a black man is far more likely to be sentenced to death than a white man or that a person from a poor area is more likely to be executed than say, someone from the flash part of Florida. There are inequalities in US justice, which is undeniable.
Here in Britiain, the new government is anti-working class, meaning a blue collar man is more likely to be jailed than a middle class man from Hampshire.
as if any execution can match a murder like that. yeah i imagine and no it would never bring closure, it never does, look at the families of the victims a year after the execution and not ten minutes before, its nearly unanimus. when you bring the legal system in for revenge, its fail all around. the murderer didnt use legality to kill, so how in the hell is that justice. if someone did that, id kill em personally not this pussy "fish in the barrell nonsense"
This was for television, after all -- the editing had to be quick, rather than factually accurate. I have witnessed death by lethal injection in a corrections facility, from the time of first injection to death being pronounced was about 5 minutes total. Inmate did not suffer or struggle at all.
i have this episode. its on the season 6 dvd. the first time Law & Order crossovered with Homicide: Life On The Streets.

I think a quick hanging would be cheaper and less of a spectacle.

Imagine if this dude killed your parents for the fun of it. What would you want done to them?

If only New York still had the death penalty. I would go for it. That's not actually the death chamber. The actual chamber doesn't use an injection machine.
Goldenrod636 2 years ago
Yes, but the machine, symbolically was associated with lethal injection and it can proceed "faster" than a scene showing manual injection of drugs.
New York, under its protocol (now rescinded) was supposed to be a manual drip delivery.
nicspic 2 years ago
Does anybody have any pictures of the old chamber?
If the machine was a symbol to lethal injection, they should have found a better machine rather than switch. Few shows do it manually.
