  • Everybody talks here like he can se a Video?! Are i'm Wrong or is that a Resolution like 1000x40 ?? I can see nothing interessting in that Video... (But yeah, i love Linux too!)

  • @curlywurlycraig ??? Yeah thats an stupid Video title, but this is an wrong Recordet Video... so what?

  • @IWasKanBesserenNom Huh? I was agreeing with you. I just agreed that the resolution of the video was weird.

  • @curlywurlycraig LOL Im sorry, when i clicked my name i got to another Answer of me on an other Video. So i thought you wanna Bash xD Sooo Sorry

  • @IWasKanBesserenNom No problem haha, I was confused for a bit :P

  • i dont not have a fucking clue what just happened haha, dont understand any of this or what the hell the gnome ir linux is??

  • .. Windows Xp, OSX have extraction from zip archives also..it's not something new

  • GNOME/Linux GNU/Linux?

why not "why i love GNOME on Linux"...? but yeah, tis a cool feature :D

  • This is not a gnome specific feature, it is an ubuntu feature... kubuntu has the same feature on its KDE desktop...

  • You do realize an "ubuntu feature" would be narrower than "gnome feature", do you? It's integrated in most desktops now, Windows too.

  • FFS why do people have to be asshats on youtube ? The video is called, "Why I love GNOME/Linux" and gives the impression that this is a gnome specific feature when it simply isn't. End of story. Stop being a smacktard.

  • And I was, much like you, saying it wasn't an Ubuntu specific feature either.

  • hey dude im runing linux too, what program do u use to screen record?

  • it's called "istanbul"...

  • I use xvidcap...

Just search your package manager for "xvidcap". Incredibly painless and near instantaneous setup, and no hassle with using it thus far.

  • Windows doesn't ship out-of-the-box with A) the ability to extract ZIP files with two clicks and B) the intelligence to not scatter 100 files across your desktop in the process.

In the video, when I click extract, it's smart enough to create a folder to store all the files that are going to be extract. It also knows not to create an extra folder if the contents of the ZIP are inside a folder.

  • Just one of the thousands of intelligent choices in GNOME. But I don't see this video convincing anyone

  • Its not a gnome specific feature... kubuntu users enjoy the same feature on their kde desktops...

  • @GameGod0 not all linux distros come default with the ability to extract zip files either just the ones who decide to include file roller and p7zip.

  • whats so great about that? u can do that on windows...
