  • what does ixnay on the hombre means???

  • @ant21motin it's mean "La Muerte" , The Death ...

  • This is the band that got me into listening Punk,Grunge,Metal, rock, alternative rock, and for that i thank them.

Also its a huge nostalgia trip for me when i listen to this album, brings me back like +12 years ago.

    To some better times :)

  • I wished there would be people these day who made songs like these...

  • @gUITaRzERo36 MAn i went thru my teens in the 90's, When it was just smoking pot and doing occasional trips. The offspring rocked then so much. life was sweet then i tell you you are very insightful. the internet wasnt really a big thing, but was a good source of knowledge for new drugs so you knew what you were doing to yourself.

  • @bengregory777 none of us had mobiles till we were 18 or so! defenitely had a car before a phone. it was so cool, you could arrange to meet at someones house before going out, and everyone would show up. now with mobiles, people just give you excuses why they dont bother to turn up.

  • the offspring was forever alone before it was cool... sincerely, 9gaggers

  • Just remember when this album came out .. My father bought me the tape and with my walkman, I use to fast forward until Mota and this song ...

Ah... Good old times ... :'(

  • The title should be Amazing !

  • @gUITaRzERo36 So, your account doesn't exist. Can I get your thumbs up for liking this song without being fifteen?

  • Sad that so great album sold so badly ): I think it deserved even for 20 000 000 sold not only 5 000 000 )

  • @chips1331 i got it when it came out and still have it now

  • So awesome, those who hate this band can just get lost and stop hating.

  • great song

  • one of my favourite songs, also one of their bestm they should make a video

  • wooowwww very nice song, i love it...

  • This reminds me of Here come's the sun by The Beatles

  • @gUITaRzERo36

Different music, same problems teens deal with today. I was about your age working my first job when this CD was out, yes I said "CD" and not iTunes. Anyway back to my original point, you still had all the same scholastic social issues you see today including all the cliques and labels which are worthless in themselves and do nothing but damper a persons true capabilities in my view.

  • amazing

  • top 5 in my all time favorite offspring songs...fuckin great song!

  • @gUITaRzERo36 embrace whatever you can. before you know it, now will be gone too.

  • @manano09 mate, it wasn't all this good. Ace of Base, Bjork, Smurfs Go Pop, Outhere Brothers.... need I go on?

  • Comment removed

  • This is 100% "While my guitar gently weeps" turned heavy with different lyrics.

  • @gUITaRzERo36 im thinking the exact same thing

  • long live the offspring!!!!

  • going mental right now such an brilliant band

  • If you think that this song is veeeeeery underrated, thumbs up!! ;)

  • WHY ISN'T THIS SONG ONE OF OFFSPRING'S BEST HITS?...I really wonder!!!

  • @Jijifiongos Wasn't released a single, fool. They already had 3 singles from Ixnay! I think Gone Away and All I want were perfect single!

  • @curioustongue I know fool...I wonder why it's not released!!

This, with Vultures and The End Of The Line are underrated treasures!!!

  • @Jijifiongos and Lighting Rod!

  • fuckin brilliant album

  • @zevennb STFU!

  • loko esse som man

  • I never bought this cd, my friend let me borrow it when i was like 9, now I'am 23 and every song on this cd still brings memories when i head banged to this, i raped the shit out of this cd.

  • well done brother, long live 90's good music ,fuck this today shit called music.....

  • Does anyone out here ever feel like they just carry the weight of the world in their head? I think I felt this way in highschool because I wanted to be more than just someone who lives. I wanted my life to matter. This music really hits the nail on the head for how I felt then and until I make something out of myself post-college. It is tough to think this way, especially in the world today full of sin and hatred for Christians like me. All I ever wanted to do was mean something.

  • @xxendofdaysxx you can dude, hardwork and dedication...and find your soulmate.

  • @joshuacollins1990

good luck with the soulmate thing

  • @xxendofdaysxx Everything you do does mean something. It just depends on what you do (if it's against someone or for someone). If it's just to follow the pack of sheep, then good riddance because you are just one more for the count... :(

  • man, i loved the 70's, the 80's and of course, the 90's

  • I'm 14 now, and 90's music is the best, even if I'm growing up with todays shit they call music.

  • This song breaks my heart... it strikes so close to home...

  • @LieutenantIDan Hey bro, keep your head up. If we were to meet in the real world, I would be a good friend to you. We could share God's love for us with each other and help others who feel alone as well. I know I feel it sometimes myself. Like few think about things with as much pain and concern as I do. I hope I find you in understanding, bro. My heart goes out to you for your suffering.

  • i still don't know how they make simple 4 chord songs sound so epic!

  • I was a teenager in early 2000-ts, and I was a little kid during the 90's, but stil anyway - I managed to find great music such as this!

Damn, I'd wish I was growing up in 90's..

  • @offsrx You said it man.

  • @gUITaRzERo36 hey! i think the same, in thosse times everything was great and know we are living on shit! Good music!

excuse my english.. i´m argentinian ;)

  • im 14 and offspring is by far my favorite band. next to nirvana. nirvana is #2 but still awsome.

  • Love this tune.

  • best band ever, there shouldn't even be a dislike button

  • while my guitar gently weeps?

  • I think this might be my favorite album ^^

  • oldschool, old memories, drugs, girls, wish to have that age again

  • @luckyquick Pathetic how music hasn't improved since then, but it's offspring so i'm not complaining.

  • One of my top favorite bands, not only of the 90s, but ever. And one that NEVER gets the credit they deserve.

  • @jwp570 yeah, that's right, but i was always asking myself - why are Offspring always less credited, when they have such great music?

People seem to much more like shit music than quality one

  • It's like a heavier version of while my guitar gently weeps :]

    not a bad thing.

  • Great album! Thanks for posting!

  • good song

  • woot

  • Easily my favorite album of theirs.

  • i had only heard about offspring about a year ago and now love them what did I do with my life before offspring.

    Peace out!

  • Best song on the album. Very epic!

  • @Fritheby Damn AGREE with you Frithe. My song of Ixnay, damn good tune!

  • Damn unfortunatly kids these days wont know the real meaning of 90's music. all they can do is just dream about the past. i grateful that i lived through such an amazing era of music. Alice in Chains Blind Melon Bush Butthole Surfers Dinosaur JR Everclear Everlast Fuel Garbage Goo Goo Dolls Green Day Live Nine Inch Nails <3 Nirvana No Doubt Oasis Offspring Pearl Jam Soundgarden Tool Stone Temple Pilots Sublime Temple of The Dog Third Eye Blind
  • @Manano09 Amen!

  • @Manano09

Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers

  • @Manano09 Yeah, I'm one of those who are imagining :/

  • @Manano09 I'm 12. I have only heard of Green Day and The Offspring but they are kick ass

  • @Clendmike Look up Nirvana they're one of best!

  • @Manano09 Right! Man why wont those beanie bopper peaces of shit wake up and realize what real talent is.

  • @Manano09 you forgot mad season in your list

  • @Manano09 cant say it any better myfriend!!

total fcking agreed wth you.. but do not dispair, if we teach our kids wht real music was all about and how music was back in our days maybe true music will never be forgoten..

i cant say that my son will love true music like this one, but at least he will no what real music was like back in our days

  • I love The Offspring. I'm only 14 and I've been listening to them for most of my life. A lot of bands that used to be so much like them have changed to much.

  • Damn it! It's their best album! I remember when my father was listening it in his car in 1997 when I was 6 years old! IF I COULD TELL THANK YOU TO MY FATHER FOR ONE THING, IT WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY TO HAVE BECOME KNOWN TO ME THE REAL MUSIC. If only I could return to past! Holy fucking nostalgia! R.I.P Father! This song is sick!

  • @WolfOfRage333 your father was a great man

  • I agree with the 5 people who disliked this, it doesn't go for long enough!!! <3 Offspring

  • these guys are seriously powerful with their music. one of my alltime favorite bands. i thank my dad for showin me them

  • @Ichigo9913

hell yeah they are. Your dad knows great music. People hate on this band now, i dont get it. so they had a couple slower songs that werent fast paced punk. All bands make a few "mainstream sounding" songs". I own every album and will continue to be a real fan. keep rockin

  • best album ever from them

  • Gosh that takes me back...good ol' times. There was a time when I was able to sing ALL the Offpsring songs along.

  • The last album featuring the "classic" Offspring sound.

  • @ultramegaunknown

yeah it is, but all bands change. The way i see it. they have been a band for around 25 years. i feel they have earned the right to experiment with different kinds of sounds, for better or worse. REAL FANS will stick by a band through it all. keep rockin and supporting dude

  • This brings me back. Good old days.

  • the cure cover jack off jill did has the exact same music

  • @rekojah of love song

  • Ixnay from hombre is the best album ever

  • good memories from this album, backwhen they released this was the greatest days of my life and the greatest music (mainly offspring and metallica) best music days EVER!!!!

  • love the guitar in this song. all time fav band

  • Aah but now I get it. always wondered why this song meant so much to me.. when I was 8..

  • the best band in the world.. THE OFFSPRING PUNK ROCK

  • i have always liked this song, even before i started listening to the offspring. they always used to play this on my local rock station. this song really is a damn good song!

  • it's me or this song sounds a lot like "While my guitar gently weeps" by george harrison?, when i first heard this song, that was the first thing that i thought... great song btw

  • Comment removed

  • this was one of the first songs i learnt on drums, if it wernt for these guys i probly wouldnt be playing ..so yeah , thanx..

  • Love the offspring, thanks for putting this up!

  • i think all their songs sound great from smash their best being this album, but the meaning stretches from from self titled album to conspiracy of one

  • their last good album imo, fuckin love offspring before Americana

  • Totally agreed!

  • I liked 'em until they did Splinter.

  • i agree..after that...

  • I mean, it's not like I don't want them to experiment or anything. Experimenting is how a band keeps their music fresh.

But it just felt wrong for the most part. Rise and Fall was a little better than Splinter, but still...

  • @PadraikKasier exatcly..totaly agree wth u myfriend..but 4 me after americana they change to much, 2 fast lol

nothing like the 1992 - Ignition & in 1997 the great Ixnay On The Hombre =)

but that´s just my opinion, dont get me wrong i realy like them

  • @olivaix; Yeh, don't worry. Ixnay was my favorite too.

  • @PadraikKasier i gotta disagree, smash through rise and fall is their best work!

  • Are you kidding? From Rise and Fall + Splinter, I enjoyed only five or six songs out of the whole albums.

From their debut to Conspiracy of One was their peak of creativity, culminating in Smash and Ixnay.

But each to their own, I suppose.

  • @PadraikKasier I think conspiracy of one was their worst album..

  • @presunto93; Why? It was one of the shortest sure, but Splinter was shorter.

I have grown to like Rise and Fall more and more, but Splinter is still their weakest work.

  • @PadraikKasier splinter is not worse than the self titled or americana.

  • I must agree

  • @idknemo nah, american was great

not all of it (pretty fly for a white guy, why dont you get a job...) but the rest was great)

  • @ronadish1

its columbia records fault for giving those songs a more mainstream sound. But Offspring are from California, im from Cali, Through experiences and living here, i understand why they made those kinds of songs. There not bad songs, its what they go through. Some people dont feel it though. Keep punk alive.

  • yea its post grungy classic sound not the usual offspring fare

  • the lyrics are relevant to my life

  • Ixnay on the hombre con este album empece a escuchar rock!!!!!!fue la primera musica que escuche conscientemente en mi vida.

  • this is thier best song ever! fucking love it

  • i can't take it. Dex's voice is too sexy here..!!!

  • Sometimes I think I'm gonna drown

    Cause everyone around's so hollow

    Im alone

Sometimes I think I'm going down

But no one makes a sound

    They follow

    And I'm alone.....

  • @hhiras21 Nobody will ever realise how much these lyrics mean to me. The best post on here, friendo. The best.

  • sound kind of grunge

  • I agree :)

  • Easily one of my fav Offspring tracks. Like a messed up version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".

  • This and Gone Away are my two favourites of theirs.

  • same lol

  • awesome song man...sounds more like heavy metal than punk rock Heavy.

  • It sounds more like "While my guitar gently weeps".

  • Ixnay On The Hombre, The Offspring's Best Ever album !!!

  • i was thinking that too, but i didn't know the song's name

  • would have to play it at concerts is a song as good as genocide speck take like a man .... among many others:) love offspring are very good

  • What a great emotion this song have , the specific emotion which only The Offspring have , Im Amazed :)

  • love this!

  • oh yeah this song are ******* ever

  • Great! :) :)

  • I love the intro.

seems Dex is pissed and depressed

  • man, ixnay is such a great album. i miss 90's rock music.

  • Genial.

  • Last great Offspring album. It's been all downhill since.

  • So true =/

But their last album was good.

  • this song sounds like he is depressed

  • he is depressed. it's so obvious from the lyrics. dex sings from the heart.

  • this song makes me spill my sprite!

  • What does that mean?

  • you mean that overrated, over played, watered down, mtv song, no thanks. I'll stick to listening to real passionate offspring tunes.

  • So many memories attached to this one single song.

  • blaspemy in the highest order!

  • this song is so awesome my pants are soaked through

  • no,

  • one of the best

  • positive thumb

  • funtastic!!!!

  • Splinter and the new album sucked balls.

  • impossible!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • AA song

  • They have still same old cars , same old girls , same old houses and same old Bad Habit.... so doesn't matter how famous they are STILL is THE OFFSPRING !!!!!! GREAT CONCERT HERE in SLOVAKIA GUYS 15.8.2009 !!!!!!!!

  • I agree with all comments, however I believe they dug there own graves when they sold out and went mainstream pop punk and now thats what they are remembered for.

  • Meanwhile, Dexter laughs and thumbs his nose at your ridiculous comment as he sits in his authentic leather chair while he revels in the millions of other fans who don't give a shit as long as they make good music and ignore idiots like you.

  • Ha ha..hmmm...ok mate lol

  • I believe they also dug their own graves when Dexter Holland kicked A.F.I. off of his (Holland's) record label. His reasoning was because he didnt agree with the direction they (AFI) were going. That is why AFI signed with someone else, so that they could keep their own artistic integrity, although I may not agree with the direction they took their music, i respect them (AFI)

  • @newnrg they were one of the first bands who supported music downloading so don't talk crap about selling out. They can play whatever music they want they're still the best band i've ever listened to.

  • @ivex91 LOL thats cause they knew it was the only way to sell there new style of music

  • @newnrg well...de gustibus non est disputabant...:)...for me they were, are, and will always be legends from 1984 to beyond....

  • how the hell arent they more famous, all this miley and jonas bullshit, great band, and real underdog

  • offspring are one of the biggest bands in the world, wouldnt call em underdogs!

  • This is one of those songs that goes unnoticed by the public and thats sad because its such a fucking awesome song

    Live long Offspring

  • Awesome song!

  • offspring is always the best

  • Yep.

  • Comment removed

  • nice

  • Great fucking song!

  • if i could change then i'd really be amazed
