My boyfriend drove over a huge lump of concrete and made a hole in his exhaust on the crooked mile. It was too big to miss it and their were cars coming the other way. We think it fell off of a skip lorry.
my dad smashed into a snow pile going down a hill on the crooked mile. If the car had moved 2 inches forward the car would have fell 7 foot. Not much, but in a car, its not nice.
Yep, it can be really dangerous, I think you'll agree. Flooding, ice, sludge, run-off from farms, loose tarmac, pot-holes, draincovers, uneven cambers, this 60mph road has it all. Oh yeah, oncoming trucks in the middle of the road. Maybe there should be what I'm calling 'bend speed limits'. There could be a sign showing the direction of the bend with a sign saying 'MAX SPEED 40' etc. I've seen them elsewhere.

34 seconds into the clip, on the left side ditch, just beyond the police car on the right :-) sorry about the quality of the video.

Totally agree.
I often go down to fishers green from Broadley Common direction, and so many times on that turn off - i've had people trying to park in my boot!
