Actually, the song is about a phone conversation with an old friend who'd moved away to pursue a career in art. He was having his doubts about his own "version" of reality. From the original song: "If you wonder if your vision's jaded, just ask someone, who will tell you true. The one true friend who see's all that you've painted. He'll say, 'Hey man, that looks just like you.'"

A man went to the mountains to paint the perfect picture of the world. The picture I think symbolizes real life and wants to capture perfect vision of real life. But after trying to find perfection, he finds that a perfect life is impossible to achieve. What is a perfect life is in the eye of the beholder. It's message is that you can attempt to go thru life excepting to your life to pan out a certain way but in the end, you do what you do and you find perfection in the imperfections in life.

The lead singer of BlackHawk, Henry Paul, is very much alive. The only member of BlackHawk that passed away is Van Stephenson who died of cancer in 2001.

BlackHawk's lead singer is and has always been Henry Paul who is very much alive.

You're right. The member of BlackHawk that passed away was Van Stephenson who passed away on April 8, 2001. Van was a great man who sang lead on a couple of album cuts but was not normally the lead singer. Van is missed very much.

Thanks! That's great to hear. I must have just jumped to conclusions when I heard of Van's death and assumed that they'd broken up or gone on hiatus. I'll be watching the tour schedule at the Website.
