This is actually the first track from an old cassette somebody found. It had no label or track names, except just "Boards of Canada". Since some of the track samples appear in newer BoC tracks, this seems to be pre-1993.
Could you please upload this release to Mediafire? It's been up here for 3~ years undisturbed by copywrite notices, and if you were to get a copywrite notice on Mediafire they do the same thing as Youtube - remove the content. I've yet to hear of anything besides the removal of content happening for uploading to a hosting site. This would then likely be known by the majority of BoC fans, as opposed the current minority of this channel on this site. It sure beats ripping tons of low quality vids.
@DvonKron It's fan-made; this was released on cassette and was most likely completely unmarked (thus why the tracks are untitled, at least to my knowledge)
@DDRpwnerer thanks for the knowledge. its a great image. according to a hexagon sun spokesman who writes as mgd on the message board Twoism, it is unknown who compiled the 35 track tape, although he implied that they were all indeed authentic
@DvonKron many years ago, when i was just learning photoshop, i made a bunch of boards of canada cover images, most of which ended up eventually on bocpages.org. a few of them haven't aged well but i do still like this one quite a bit. it's appropriated & altered from an old calculus textbook.
I lovw this track. Found it in summer 07 on some site when I was searching online for their older stuff since I have all their other albums after Twoism. So melancholic.
I'm unsure if it actually has a "real name" at all. None of these tracks have circulated with real names--those that did were mistagged as being from the album "Closes, Vol.1" (Which they weren't)
So yeah, I did have to add the "A" at the end to designate what side of the cassette it's on. It normally goes by "Audiotrack 01", no "a" at the end.

their music sounds so timeless. its hard to believe this was made back when cassettes were used

A lot of these songs are from the bootleg compilations "A Few Old Tunes" there are two volumes and tons of songs.

Sounds like a band being conducted in a tunnel somewhere.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
There is only one way to tell if these tracks are real BoC songs or not.
Reverse 'em, since 99.99% of BoC's works are meant to be backmasked, as your Geogaddi reversal showed.
Subscribed. =)

I always love their album art

Yeahh. I enjoy it but I think this might be fake album art... I have no clue if it's legitimate to be honest.
