@iAMcooooooool I love testament, bro. So no offense, but they're hardly the 'next level' from Megadeth. Megadeth's solos are FAR more difficult than Testament's. Especially solos written by Marty Friedman and Chris Broderick. Even a lot of Dave's solos are harder than Testament's.

hey, I don't remember if you've already answered this before..... What kind of set up do you use to record these videos? Guitar plugged directly into the computer? POD?? Gearbox?

The last couple were guitar to toneport UX2 to computer direct. The older ones were guitar to Marshall TSL to computer through the Marshalls direct out. The problem with direct out from an amp is that it skips the power amp section, which is where the good tone comes from, and only uses the pre-amp. \m/_

The hardest thing i found was trying to get my camera to not use its own mic to record. I use the Creative player and set it to "record what you hear". The player itself works even if you dont have a creative soundcard, so you might want to give it a try! \m/_

i love this song you played the solo well,i found the easy way to play it is to play it groups of 3's mainly then there would be a hammer on etc ,the hardest bit of the whole song is the pre chorus , cant seem to able to grasp the scale of it and make it sound the same as the song.

Yeah, the majority of this solo is grouped in 3's. The simpler part is 4's and then near the end there's 2 groups of 7's following 3's. Thats gotta be the hardest thing with Martys solos. Getting thoses 7's to fit can be a total pain in the ass! I never got around to learning the actual song, but it sounded like it was gona be damn hard, and by what you're saying it i think i was right!

I started today on studying this solo, found a very nice tab... But it's hard, even though I've never been a soloist... I think I should take some basic lessons before :(

Its perfectly normal to find it hard! It doesnt mean you cant do it! I found it really hard, so i took it really slow, learning very small parts at a time. All the notes are grouped into phrases of 3's, 4's, 5's, 6's or 7's. So work out the phrases one at a time and slowly begin to join them together. Its noe easy, but that doesn't mean its impossible! Get a free program that slow the music down but keeps it at the same pitch. Take it all slow and you'll be fine dude! \m/_

Make sure you try before you buy dude. The high e string is very close to the edge of the fretboard on these guitars and it takes a lot of control not to drop it off the neck. Keep an open eye for it dude. \m/
