  • Mick Taylor, genius !!!!

  • 2:39-2:46 Lol Charlie. At first it looks like he's checking out Mick's ass (I would be too; it's adorable) but then he rolls his eyes at Mick : D

  • @keeffan49 Thanks!

  • Mick Taylor is the best guitar player the stones have ever had.

  • The music and song is great, but good god, did we really dress that way?

  • What's the name of the song that starts at the end of this video? Anybody know? Or is it part of the fade-out?

  • @Twilightmagi Dancing with mr D

  • Keith was the rebel who came in from the cold, what a cool looking dude, luv you Keef.

  • who the hell needs God & Jesus if you can get Mick & Keith?

  • Mick Taylor is the sh!t....just feakin awesome!!!

  • Wonderfull, better than Angie or Dancing With Mister D.

  • Knowing smile from Charlie @ 2m44s

  • Silly Video, I remember seeing this on Tv when it first came out, but good song.

  • @afrobeat1957 Exactly. I remember when it came out and Taylor was movin' around like he's rocking' out. That wasn't his style. And the hair, and the make up. WTF?? I think he quit soon after this. I thought he would. Trying to be something he wasn't. Too bad, the Stones lost a great guitarist whose sound fit them perfectly.

  • Fantastic slide guitar by Mick Taylor, his time with the Stones was their golden age from a guitar playing prospective. I heard somewhere that the beautiful solo on "Waiting On A Friend" was his from a session done 5 or 6 years before it was released. Also, the blow dryer was definitely set to max, not sure about Jesus or mom.

  • @Tajavideo Waitin on a friend is a sax solo.

  • Sólo @rpettinato me hace comenzar la mañana con esta canción...

  • Someone's blow dryer must've worked over hours....#:-]

  • I see the uploader comments and am fairly baffled. for one, I don't understand how you could love jesus AND the stones. they have such opposing ideas. for two, I fully endorse partying hard with prostitutes on trains. the only things i love more than the stones are stones of the crystal variety, violent sex, and kicking babies.

  • i love the stones too. and the only things i love more are blow, satan and anal sex with men.

  • In that case Mick Jagger you can park your Silver Train in my station any day. But you won't forget my name.

  • @Yellow4494 i bet his dick is soft and dry to the touch.... i bet his balls are all droopy and wrinkly with big veins pulsating... his anus is diulated.

  • @crackernumber2 I'm fine with that, completely. He is the sexiest 68 year old I've ever seen. Actually the only hot 68 year old I've seen.

  • AWESOME!! Hot Jagger!!!

  • As it turns out, Mick Taylor was not necessarily shy in person except for being very young. He was actually quite lively and arguementative with the guys later on. He said onstage he was reserved and quiet, but offstage he had to be firm and decisive. He is not of ever was an arrogant, gregarious fool that Keith and Mick would sometimes be, and sell as rock'n'roll when Taylor was eloquent and profound not to mention just as intelligent if not more than the Stones who were from well to do homes.

  • Uma pena que essa fase tenha durado tão pouco!

  • Awesome!! STONES ROCK!!

  • Big fan of this tune. Can do without the prancing peacock though.

  • @bughead3 But that's Mick...

  • Lip sync'ed. Pretty sloppy (check out Mick Taylor's non-slide visual)...

  • I seem to recall this was a b side, of Angie? Anybody able to confrim that?

  • Love the song, but all that blue eye shadow is ... a bit much, dont'cha think? It was even then. Love that smack induced smugness on Charlie and Keef at 2:40 . It's a walk in the park for them, 'cause they were just miming to the studio recording. Anyone got a concert version of this anywhere?

  • i like...

  • A bit of dancin' with the D at the end.......

  • Graet song and band!!Love them!!

  • Hey, Keith playing a white SG. And didnt I know her name!!!

  • Brilliant! This from the "Old Grey Whistle Test" 1973. I have the whole episode.

  • Oh Yeah!!!!

  • ....this bloke is nearly as good as that bloke on stella street at doin mick jagger!!Check out charlie who looks like hes deciding what time to wash the car on sunday morning until he notices that silly bloke in front of him at 2.45....wonderful stuff!!

  • c'est peut-être à ce moment l'apogée des stones.

  • According to keno.org : " The "silver train" in this song refers to blues guitarist Johnny Winter. "

  • Carol Burnett ?

  • GREAT TUNE!

  • Mick Taylor- Exceptional slide guitar virtuoso.Peerless ,and greatly missed.

  • KEITH SHOULD OF LEFT TAYLOR ALONE.GAVE HIM A LITLE SPACE,SOME CREDIT.JUST THINK IF TAYLOR WOULD OF STAYED WHAT THEY WERE CAPABLE OF.WHAT A AWESOME TRIO.

  • See Charlie is smirking when he glances at MJ, bet he's thinking what a prick, he wouldn't be wrong either dressed like that.

  • great song

  • These guys are true rock gods. But its a travesty to have the Stones lip sync. Live is so much better.

  • so what's the song that starts at the end

  • They are the best .....no one can compare. Keith defined rock star cool.

  • Wow......I remember buying this 45 single back in '73 when I was only 10 years old at the Woolco store at Sheppard & Weston Rd. QUIZ: What was the big hit on the other side of this single ?

  • @jsinc909

was it angie by any chance?

  • CORRECT ! !

  • am i the only one to get it right? :) i love rolling stones trivia by the way....in case you couldn't tell...lol!!

  • i meant song not son lol

  • Comment removed

  • i have a boot leg where the named the son silver but i guess they decided to change it to silver train

  • @psychkoala If you look up the lyrics, you'll find that Silver Train is a metaphor for a guy's penis. For example, what do you think Mick Jagger means when he sings "Silver rain is falling, falling all around my house Oh yeah Silver bells is ringing, ringing all around my house Ding dong, oh yeah" ? Don't get me wrong, you're sill right about this song being about a man having sex with a prostitute.

  • @psychkoala Well you know what the song says-She'll be coming around the mountain when she comes.

  • I love the stones!..the only thing I love more is my mom and Jesus!

  • yes me too I love the stones and the only things i love more are Jesus, My2 kids and mom

  • @readytorock865 - Jeebus is dead, so move on to the Stones.

  • @readytorock865 but you still have sympathy for the devil ?

  • Stones always rock. My favorite lead is Mick Taylor though, but I love it all. Stones!!

  • thats sweet..it's funny how music from that era..I'm talking about 60's to 70's has left an impression even on popular culture today..you see it in rock and alternative and even traces of it in hip hop and rap.

  • i know my kids like the stones pretty good my son really likes them a lot!! Yes even the hip hop people like the stones! I think cause the stones is so good to relate to and that bluesy sound in a lot of their music

  • stonesrock65 ... it was Don Kirshners rock concert :D remember it when i was 6... the R.S. videos on there is what made me know i wanted to be a rock star... lol. lol (long before 'guitar hero' ever came out) not a star but to this day i do my R.S. thing w/my garage band

  • long live mick taylor!!!

  • Man, the Stones ROCKED!

    (In their prime...)

  • man i love this song thanks!!!!!!!!

  • hi,nice tatoo, any way i thinki saw this vid on a show called mid nite speciel,am i right?i think it was GOATS HEAD SOUP, jesus,im gettin old

  • oh thanks you like my new tattoo? That`s my very first tat! I love it

  • of coarse i know who mick taylor is i know who all thestones were but you right some fans(well fans but not die hard fans)don`t know any ex stones or much history of them

  • Hey Vicki~~Excellent video, as usual! Thanks again for the full version of this song,

    Always, Ken

  • Mick Taylor gave the Stones class with his brilliant blues playing(especially his slide) next to Keiths hard core jive funky rock & roll style. Ron Wood never added anything to the Stones music he just copied all the riffs that had already been laid down. Start Me Up & Waitin on a Friend were both in the box before Taylor left just like almost anything that came close to a hit after Taylor left.

  • 1:38 What's Charly thinkin'"How did I get up playin"in Liberacy's backing band?"

"Goats Head"....one of the last real good whole Stones albums though.

  • ok PAULMCARTNEY what`s your problem?????just cause you don`t like the rolling stones don`t mean people are gonna agree with you!!!give it up Stones rule

  • Ofcourse....Stones RULED,

now they're (in my humble opinion)

a caricature of their brilliant former selves.

    Nowadays it's Rolling Stones Inc.©

Sorry for being an old bore,I watched their 60's-70's brilliance, and just can't stand seeing my heroes piss over their legacy.

All respect to you though,I'll stop nagging.

    •♪☺♫

  • ok i get what you saying Yeah i know they were better when they were younger of coarse they were!!! But i still love them today and i`ll never forget the 60`s 70`s 80`s and 90`s of them !!

but yes the most amazing time and brilliance was in 60`s and 70`s

  • i love this song and this video. of course the stones best stuff was with taylor and everyone knows that! i also like brian jones a lot but ronnie wood has done very little for the stones and he doesnt sound very good.

  • Ron Wood is good replacement player for Brian Jones, he would have been great for "BEGGAR'S BANQUET" , " LET IT BLEED ", and 1969 American Tour. But a bad choice in replacing Mick Taylor, once you get virtuoso, you can't go back to mundane

  • Mick Taylor is underrated but it`s his own fault I Love him but he is just to shy VERY Shy!!!! he choose not to be in the lime light very much.

but anyway Yeah Taylor was a real good guitar player but Ron Wood has a great attitude and hes plays good enough the stones still rocked better than any other band when "Black and Blue" came out and "some girls" !!!! oh yeah and" love you live"

  • You always have great Stones vids, but Mick Taylor blows Ronnie Wood away as a guitarist...The best LPs of the band had Taylor on them...Woodie is just a session man compared to Mick Taylor.

  • Mick Taylor was and is a great guitarist. I listened to him back in the John Mayall days. But Ronnie Woods is no slouch! Listen to him with the Faces. It's mainly that Ronnie is less of a disruptive force- he's very easygoing, loves his kids, and is good for the chemistry. Ronnie does some great solo work- check out "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'". And NEVER say anything bad about Keith's guitar work!

  • Dear sometime...Can't you hear knockin solo is Mick Taylor's solo...Ronnie join the band in 1975 not in 1971...You can compere Mick with Ronnie...Mick's playin belongs to a different universe !!!

  • Stones still do "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'", long after Mick Taylor left, on their tours. Ronnie Woods does a very nice live solo on that song. I'll dig up the video if you'd like.

  • I like ronnie I love the some girls album and he`s on it ! I think he`s very good!! i like em both(Mick T.) and( Ronnie W.)!!!

  • @SometimeAngel

LOL...CANT YOU HEAR ME KNOCKING SOLO IS ONE OF MICKS BESTS...BITCH TOO ETC ETC...

  • @mynthon11 Keith R. playing the solo on Bitch.

  • @cameltooth1

Yeah you 100% sure... Its sound little gritty and keefed thou on second hand !! Cool and thanks for the Info mate!!

  • @SometimeAngel - WTF are you talking about? A "disruptive force" ? How many RS hits have a Ronnie solo and how many have a Taylor solo? Ronnie is a bar-band guitarist and you're an idiot.

  • @SometimeAngel the only thing bad about Keith's playing is that everything sounds similar. Honestly, I think everyone who writes or plays sounds similar on whatever they play. So it's not actually bad, unless we're talking about almost any of the live 2000's. It's like Keith and Ronnie aren't even trying. Charlie is the man, though. He has to keep playing forever while they are doing very little.

  • I LOVE THEM A LOT

  • Yeah i love them too a lot !!They have so many great songs and i listened to them ever since i was a little kid .

    Thanks for comment

  • why this like glam rock style?

    stones not blues again?

  • this is a blues song dude :)

  • This came out in '73, they were competing with Bowie other glam rock musicians in England

  • B side to Angie.

    Highly underrated album.

  • It must be the 777' 777th time I'm listening to that song... and everytime I find it better !... Like excellent wines, it's getting better and better with years...

  • souns like Mick Taylor on the leads He has to be one of the most underated guitarist of the mordern era i HOPE THE STONES COMPENSATE HIM GIVE HIM WHAT IS HIS!!!!!

  • yeah i hope they do too!!

and i agree he is underrated!! he was an amazing guitar player i have some live recordings from 1973(when he was still with them) and it is awesome!!

  • In the book titled "Up And Down With The Rolling Stones" by Tony Sanchez, Mick Jagger was questioned about Mick Taylor's compensation. Jagger was quoted as saying "C'mon. Mick makes as much money as I do". They are still selling the Taylor era records even to this day so I'm pretty sure Taylor isn't starving.

They were however a much better sounding band in the Taylor era. Ron Wood can't even come close to matching Taylor's lead and Keith played much better guitar back then.

  • Well maybe Taylor is better guitar player, but Wood build a better constructions in a team work with Keith, and in live performances, oh they are the greatest.

  • Wood is to Keith what Bianca was to Mick, A look & sound alike copy to feed his ego. They became the worlds greatest bar band when Taylor left because Keith was to afraid he was losing control to Mick & Mick.

  • That's why Ron understand Keith better than Taylor, just listen them in Worried bout you or Hand of Fate, or Blinded by rainbows, Oh my God!

There isn't any better guitar couple ever...

  • one of the main reasons MT departed from the STONES they were not going in the same way -MT is a blues player were the others had to give what the recording people want it -but then u find a blue song or 2 on the lps

  • Taylor never got half the money the rest of them got. Also never credited on alot of Exile songs that Richards got the credit for writing. And for as long as Ron Wood has been with them he also doesn't get anywhere near the money the rest get. He's lucky they let him get in the pictures with them more than Wymans replacement gets.

  • Jagger was quoted saying "Mick Taylor gets as much money as I do". He could be lying though Jagger's ego was/is hard to compete with. Not sure how they divide up the royalties.

Anyway, you are right about Taylor's contribution. Unfortunately, most casual Stones fans don't even know who he is. Hard to believe when you consider he produced some of the most memorable solos in R & R.

  • @150sevenmag

Sounds like the Stones and their new record company cut off the cashflow to Taylor in the 80's. The song that starts playing at the end is DANCING WITH MR. D.

Taylor was quite the rock god in 1973, betcha he had a lot of stray groupie pussy on tour....

  • Love Keith's hairdo

  • me too

  • From 1968 to 1973 Mick really perfected his dancing. He was an awkward dancer in the classic videos like "Last Time" and "Satisfaction." They are the best Rock band ever !!! The template for any other band.

  • Yes the best band ever i agree with everything you said!!!!

  • Can credit Tina Turner for a lot of those cool moves.

  • Thank you Stones Girl

    my Favorite.......

  • YO tengo discos de cuando estaba el Rubio de los 80 fantasticos

  • That is Mick Taylor in the 70`s he played guitar then ron wood came after him in mid 70`s

  • They travelled across the centuries and their songs will stay for ever... MT is magic - listen again to 3:18
