Really a very fine perfomance. I have an old, crakling copy from the 1930's by The Blue Sly Boys and a equally well-worn copy from the 1950's by The Monroe Brothers. My Grandma told me that her dad sang it in the 1920's but that there were some additional words and verses. Anyway - this version is done very well and I enjoyed it very much. Great job, guys!
right im about to ask a really obvious question here, but can anyone tell me which came first, this rendition by johnny cash, or olivia newton-johns version? i know it probs sound obvious, but hey, im only 16.

It's actually a traditional song. Lots of people have sung it. Though I imagine Johnny Cash recorded it before Olivia Newton-John.
