Unfortunately, if McCain doesn't mind staying in Iraq for a 100 yrs, I doubt he'd care if anyone goes on a hunger strike. What you need it to get a lot of media attention so he'd have no choice but to address it to save face. It seems that's all he really cares about is saving face, hence the whole "Let us win" statement pertaining to us being in Iraq.
