Bill Hicks called himself "Chomsky with dick jokes." he certainly did not align himself with anything remotely close to the Zeitgeist movement. he did not promote passivity...
@ibanezxz500 Yeah, I can imagine that we'd be forced to actually progress into a better world instead of being deterred and forced to comply with a pathetic set of beliefs which perpetrates the man-made idea of monetary value being real.
Money is a religion which needs to be abolished if we're going to have any real future as a species.
The economy is extremely real, and it's been that way ever since ancient people realized they could work for someone else instead of finding a way to survive on their own.
Evolve Your Value System - Listen to Bill Hicks and George Carlin - Watch the 3 Zeitgeist movies, join The Zeitgeist Movement and support a Resource Based Economy
@pouyan12 i don't think that bill hicks would like zeitgeist at all! either you don't listen to them carefully enough ore you just use bill and george for your own goals!!
@scarramouche "Like" the Zeitgeist Movement? It's not a popularity contest. It's funny how you state that you "know" what a dead person would do at this moment in time, that statement really adds to your creditability. Try making logical sense. Don't assume things and accuse people that you don't know about their "goals" and understanding capabilities, that makes you look extremely ignorant. Bill Hicks: The Economy thats FAKE ANYWAY! The Economy thats FAKE ANYWAY! The Economy thats FAKE ANYWAY!
@scarramouche Actually peter joesph said two of his biggest influences in life were bill hicks and george carlin so even though you are skeptical I think they would have been good friends, plus peter has nothing to do with the movement part of it he just makes movies and wants people to think for themselves.
@pouyan12 I don’t regard the Zeitgeist Movement as an activist movement. Rather, it seems to me to be a very passive movement that is misled by doctrines that have a pleasant sound, but collapse on analysis. Among them is the idea that we should ‘stop supporting the system’ and should not ‘fight it,’ that is seek to change and overcome it. That means that we should withdraw into passivity. Nothing could be more welcome to those with power. " Chomsky
@pouyan12 no i didnt "miss the point." however sincere the leaders and participants may be, the movement is seriously misguided. It is not leading towards change, but is undermining it by encouraging passivity and withdrawal from engagement, and offering a false sense that some real alternative is being proposed, except in terms so abstract and divorced from reality as to be virtually meaningless
@pouyan12 No, NO! The Zeitgeist movement is bullshit, stop promoting it and realise the flaws. It will stump scientific advancement. We can't have that.
@edwatom you are not entitled to your opinion, you are not an expert in anything valuable, have some respect, i hope your eyes one day open and see the flaws of today's society, and thus of humanity.
@pouyan12 Could not agree more! We must be the change. Get rid of all our stuff so we can explore inner and outer space in peace :D Only way we can do that is to remove the monetary system and the corruption which exists in every corner of the world. Here's to peace and logical and creative thinking!
