Judy Holliday is just great! love the part where is seems like she is done singing and goes and sits down then gets up really fast and sings "Whaaaaaaaaat does he look like..." lol!

Actually this play and music was based on a real answering service known as The Bells. They answered our phones. I visited them one year to deliver the operators their Christmas Presents from my mother. They were all delightful and unique personalities. I adored Judy. Her early death a tragic loss for her family and her public.

I have this musical on vinyl with Judy Holliday. They really gave it a lot more orchestration than on the record (and don't think I didn't notice the change in lyrics, either!). Also, I believe the tempo is slightly slower here than it was for the record. I'd I'd have to see this movie in its entirety to give an unbiased review, however.

@QueenBoadicea You've probably got the Original Broadway Cast version. I had the soundtrack version for many years, and except for a brief edit of the beginning, it's exactly as it was in the movie.
