I think when Brock was mentioning the word "edge". I believe he was implying that he needed to break the Undertaker's hand and injure taker to gain the competitive edge.

@Rogersthebest2131 The part of the promo where brock lesnar mentioned "i needed an edge" was in context to taker mentioning "headgames and mindgames". Brock started the "i needed an edge" part by mentioning sarah(undertakers then wife) in which in there rivalry lesnar and heyman went after takers wife in order to get inside his head to gain an "edge". Brock lesnar was fighting the undertaker, he needed an edge (as spoken by lesnar in the promo. That is what "i needed an edge" was about.

@mondes1964 if you saw the rivalry between undertaker and brock lesnar then you would know but basically brock lesnar was going up against the undertaker(who is the king of mind games)who "needed an edge" and that edge was brock and heyman going after undertakers wife which resulted in brock being given an edge. the buisness part means that paul heyman went to far and it was suppose to be just about buisness. this was a forshadow of brocks face turn.
