That was hilarious when someone from the public said "can we respond" to the city attorney saying the 1st Amendment is irrelevant, and the meeting leader said "no".... I thought it was a public forum?
Now that Sembler doesn't own this mess anymore, I don't see what the issue is. If Baywalk actually owns the sidewalk, and it appears that they do, then you can no more expect to have access to it for protest (whatever your protest) than the religious right does to stand in the Planned Parenthood parking lot.
Baywalk is not a community center or park. It's a business. The city's property is now under 2nd Ave N, and the sidewalk is on Baywalk property with a public easement. Elsewhere you will find similar easements under roof, and loitering is prohibited.
Also, if you are going to "expose" Baywalk's "true motive" then you should also be honest about why those black people are there and the role of the racist Uhuru organization.
BTW, to date I have not seen Baywalk refuse a single black customer.
Pretty interesting, he was not under oath when he made these comments and basically instructed the committee to disregard the public's interest. What other purpose is there for a PUBLIC FORUM! What a bunch of sell outs.
When public officials purposefully and knowingly take away the rights of the people in favor of corporate profits, fascism wins.

The City of St. Pete needs a new lawyer. Badly. I wouldn't trust this buffoon to defend a parking ticket.

Baywalk wants to get young, black kids off the sidewalk -- they can't say that out loud, so they're blaming protesters. Are you OK with that?
