oh thanks for letting me know saunas are safe to use for an extended period of time.. i dont have access to one right now so i just take really hot showers haha.. but i love sauna.
ive been going in around 4 times a week for 2 months now... makes my skin feel good and improves my circulation. is there any negative side effects? soemthing tells me i will need to cycle off entire years of the sauna.. or atleast slow it down to.. once a week eventually. untill then i love it everyday after work out.. please give me some advice on how frequent i should wet sauna bath
No. There is absolutely no bad side effects. At least I have never heard of any. I've heard stories like that my friend was not allowed to throw water on the stones (löylyä) because its dangerous (that was in germany so they didnt know), but thats bullshit.
You can go to sauna every single day for years and it will only improve your health.
@partyongarth420 there's no negative side effects. I'm Finnish, been going to sauna at least twice a week all my life (18,5 years) and I know it's completelly safe. Except once. I was a little girl and I accidentally touched the kiuas (the thing where you throw the water) and got a minor burn. But it healed fast. :)
The perfect temperature largely depends on saunatype, and kind of "kiuas" you have. Some produce a dry stabbing "löyly" that isn't very comfortable in high temperatures, but a more moist löyly in a large sauna can be very nice in over 100°C. This is only my opinion though, so please no flaming! Oh and I'm Finnish so I know my sauna :P
@XplosivCookie meni vähän myöhään...... ^^' noo, eilen menin nukkuun joskus kolmen aikaan (ihan normaalia vkl-käyttäytymistä mulle :D) ja tänään viel aikasemmin, ku huomenna on koulua...
not naked in sauna? heresy!

@garad123456 yep. ruotsissakaan ei ollu löylykiulua tai minkäännäköstä vatia, niin käytettiin sitten muovipussia ja mukia. :D
in sweden there was no buckets or anything, really, so we used a plastic bag and a mug. :D
