Question - I'm going to buy this beauty but i have to know - i have X360 and wanted to connect it throught DVI cable (HDMI on Xbox to DVI for monitor, which gives full hd). So if i connect it like that will it give me ability to play on max resolution of 1080?
Just got this, the monitor itself is good but the stand is absolutely horrible. It forces your monitor to be tilted downwards, even when super tightened and the stand makes the monitor wobbly (it's wobbling as I type). Is there a screw that I missed or something? (I've tightened the lock at the bottem to it's tightest)
@ArturGordonPim My monitor does not do that, but I have heard it is a wide problem. It may be worth contacting customer service to see if you are eligible for a replacement.

I've just bought this monitor and i must say i'm a bit dissapointed with the white ligt breaking trough on the upper and lower edge of the monitor...it's not a big deal really but i want to know...is this common problem for this monitor,or i've got stuck with faulty unit...i've bought it just yestereday so i would be thankfull for quick respond so i could try to replace it or something...im from europe,my model was mounted in Romania...thanks!

Great video, and review, but you should really fix up on the audio, it's very noisy, i have blue microphones eyeball, VERY happy with it... You could just sync up the video and audio in the editing program, and kabam! awesome audio!
I have had this monitor for a few months now when i first got it i loved it then i notice the pixle shift it bothered me for 3 to 4 days then i completly forgot about it, it really is a good monitor and im currently aiming to buy another to go with it.

This transparent thing he's talking about around the bezel... IS RUBBISH! Every new monitor has it, and it's a stupid marketing idea! Well, it's a good marketing idea, but for a monitor it's crap. Matte black is good because it doesn't reflect light around, so in a dark room all you see is the picture.

@s1gnex .It is not a malfunction. Turn off Dynamic Contrast, switch to Entertain Mode. It is best option for movies and games. It is still bright and colorful enough. You should have a good video card to fully enjoy a monitor like that.

I think it must have been, because I did buy it and I'm absolutely satisfied with it. A slight getting used to in FPS games, but I knew that already coming from CRT... But everything else is just wonderful ;)
Note however I'm not intensely fussy, the buttons are a bit iffy (not as responsive as Id like) but all my fears were never realized.
I got one of these and it came with a DVI cable, even though it said on the box and instructions, "Cable Not Included". Has anybody else noticed this. If so, is this cable worth replacing to a higher quality Dual-Link?

Do you experience blinking letters when scrolling (depends on the colors of text and background on how bad this is)?
Also, you said you have a dead pixel. If it's a black one (stuck pixel) you can fix this. Just so you know. I had one and fixed it using the pressing method.
No blinking when scrolling. The resolution for this screen is 1920 x 1080 so this is what you need to set it to. Anything else will be blurry. Thanks for the tip about removing the dead pixel.
I do have a sharp image when there is no motion on the screen and the max resolution of my screen is 1600x900 like I said before. Remember that I have the P2050 and not the P2250
I've got a P2050 myself which is the same except it's one size smaller. And I must say that this monitor sucks so bad I wouldn't want to recommend it to anyone.
What's wrong with it? Here's a (long) list:
- text becomes blurry and sort of blinks very fast when scrolling a page (2ms yeah right).
- Makes a very irritating loud noise as soon as you adjust the brightness or contrast just by 1 point (or more).
- A lot of bleeding which is very noticible while playing movies/video's.
- Got a dead subpixel which is also very common for samsung moitors.
- Came with a light scratch.
As you can see I'm not quite happy with it and right now I would like to throw it out of the window (again). I've seen a Dell monitor a little while ago (no "special" design or anything) and it was GREAT. Very sharp image, no bleeding and no dead pixels. I'm going to sell this piece of crap and get myself a Dell monitor.

No, not the way you want ik to. Driver support is very bad for windows 7. Normal driver is less dan 1MB and the windows 7 driver is like 8MB which is kind of weird as well.
@robertdg25 no, you mean 1280x720 dumbass, unless you want your monitor to be a lot taller than wider, plus this thing is shit compared to 2560x1600 monitors, or even 1920x1200 monitors for that matter, full HD is just a marketing term
Got mine four 5 days ago and yeah~ it's awesome. My only complaint is that despite having 1920x1080 as Native resolution it lacks HDMI port. Other than that it's awesome and no installation problems. Cheers!

Everywhere like PC World and Currys. But it took me whole day to find vendors who have it in stock. I got the LAST one after 5 store visits on Boxing Day. They might more now.
Until fairly recently the vast majority of 20" and 22" LCD's were 16:10, that is, 1680*1050.
Now they're all 1080p on 22"... but, they're also doing this with 24" which means 1920*1200 24" are hard to come by and hence come at premiums. Which sucks.
Customized key= the 2nd key from the left. You can change what happens when you press it, default = magicbrite. Got the N model and the quality is amazing!
Yes, VGA is the decade old analog monitor interface and DVI is the new digital standard. VGA will be just fine and a lot of older/cheaper video cards don't have DVI.
The off timer is useful if you want to be sure the monitor shuts down, in stead of being on stand-by. I have it on two hours so if there's no activity for two hours, it automatically shuts off. It's also very useful when for some reason windows doesn't go idle or into sleep mode.
Lol! You don't even use the Dynamic contrast ffs! 1000:1 is the normal contrast on most monitors, including this one, and that's the one you use! Dynamic contrast is a sales trick used to fool people that have no idea what to look for.
I would recommend the same screen in a slightly larger version though, 22 inch seems to small for widescreen. I used a normal 19 " before. I'm not changing it, just have to get used to it. I like sitting further away from screen. If you like to sit more than an arms length away, you should have a 23 or 24 inch. Otherwise this is perfect.
Just got the same monitor today, don't worry about the glossy bezel, it is great. Don't place a lightsource directly in front of your computer, best if the light comes from the side to avoid reflections.
Just got that monitor 4 days ago, and i gotta say, All praises due to Allah for the Hid-eya (guidance) and for blessing me with a L33T Monitor :) I highly recomend it!!

Ive got the same monitor and i think the PC/AV option is if you have an XBOX/PS3 connected to it only, it would be a good idea to have it on AV. But with that setup, PC would be fine.
Appreciate your review - here are some areas to improve. Next time you do a review, dont just waffle on for 9 minutes about how the screen looks really pretty, has touch buttons and a really nice menu. Do some more objective measurements and give a criticism based on those. eg, yet again Samsung provide a base that has no height adjustment, making it useless unless you have a desk/wall mount like yourself. How about benchmarks/real world perofmrance? etc. That would be really useful cheers
hey i got a question i got the same screen but it's synchmaster p2270. Anyways can you tell me if there is a way to make video quality better.Because it seems like my bulky cpu screen that i used to have has better video quality.
the video right now seems sorta stretched and some times i can see the pixels it's not that crisp looking.

I just bought this monitor and after some tweaking I can say I am very satisfied with it. Once you got the resolution slider to the right and you tweak your contrast and stuff, this monitor is the way to go. I recommend it. P.S. Had 753s before ;)

Hi, I have this monitor too, and I was wondering what your experience is playing FPS games. I find a bit laggy at times - but maybe I just need to get used to it.
Maybe it's just that I'm used to playing on a CRT, which is what I did before I got the P2250. I play a very old game though, that shouldn't be the problem. And yes, on PC :-)

connected my xbox 360 to it via vga set the screen res to the highest in the xbox settings (1920x1080) but it said can't set the screen format with vga for hd mode or summin if i remember this was under the display setting on the xbox. or can anyone go throught with me what setting on their xbox they have to get the best quality picture.
Also noticed with lettering during the playing the xbox on vga is slightly blurred even on the highest res setting

It's a very beautiful monitor, got mine yesterday, Don't have my pc yet, so i tested it on my laptop, great picture.
Was hard to take off the stand though, had to pull with all my strenght, lol, almost thought i broke it.

one guy rambles on how he hates it. another says dead pixel. Another says a bit laggy fps. Others say ati are funky with it.
$199 aud so I cant complain, but I swear if I get a shitty lcd after having a shitty crt for years, I'll reach thru it and poke you in the eye!

I just forgot. Sometimes my screen goes black because the power plug was touched (very lightly).
Magic Bright failed on me the other day which required me to re-install it. Again this monitor is a pain in the neck.

I use a dvi DUAL LINK and an ati 4870 toxic card. Resolution is set 1600x900 which is the max voor this screen. This screen just sucks.

Thanks for the review - really nice monitor. However, I don't think it is as clear as I expected. Have had problems installing the device driver for some reason - anyone else had a problem?

Don't know, but judging from the name, the first is 22'', the other 20'' and probably 1600x900?

Until fairly recently the vast majority of 20" and 22" LCD's were 16:10, that is, 1680*1050.
Now they're all 1080p on 22"... but, they're also doing this with 24" which means 1920*1200 24" are hard to come by and hence come at premiums. Which sucks.

I think the difference is the size. P2250 is 21,5 inches and P2050 is 20 inches.

Customized key= the 2nd key from the left. You can change what happens when you press it, default = magicbrite. Got the N model and the quality is amazing!

Yes, VGA is the decade old analog monitor interface and DVI is the new digital standard. VGA will be just fine and a lot of older/cheaper video cards don't have DVI.

The off timer is useful if you want to be sure the monitor shuts down, in stead of being on stand-by. I have it on two hours so if there's no activity for two hours, it automatically shuts off. It's also very useful when for some reason windows doesn't go idle or into sleep mode.

Lol! You don't even use the Dynamic contrast ffs! 1000:1 is the normal contrast on most monitors, including this one, and that's the one you use! Dynamic contrast is a sales trick used to fool people that have no idea what to look for.

I would recommend the same screen in a slightly larger version though, 22 inch seems to small for widescreen. I used a normal 19 " before. I'm not changing it, just have to get used to it. I like sitting further away from screen. If you like to sit more than an arms length away, you should have a 23 or 24 inch. Otherwise this is perfect.

Just got the same monitor today, don't worry about the glossy bezel, it is great. Don't place a lightsource directly in front of your computer, best if the light comes from the side to avoid reflections.

Just got that monitor 4 days ago, and i gotta say, All praises due to Allah for the Hid-eya (guidance) and for blessing me with a L33T Monitor :) I highly recomend it!!

thanks for this, not easy to buy lcd over the net, but you made my decision much easier. Looks very cool and I found the 22 inch quite cheap, since most screeens are bigger.

Ive got the same monitor and i think the PC/AV option is if you have an XBOX/PS3 connected to it only, it would be a good idea to have it on AV. But with that setup, PC would be fine.

Appreciate your review - here are some areas to improve. Next time you do a review, dont just waffle on for 9 minutes about how the screen looks really pretty, has touch buttons and a really nice menu. Do some more objective measurements and give a criticism based on those. eg, yet again Samsung provide a base that has no height adjustment, making it useless unless you have a desk/wall mount like yourself. How about benchmarks/real world perofmrance? etc. That would be really useful cheers

One correction for the reviewer--
High resolution does not equal to Higher image quality.
Higher image quality depends on gamut reproduction, color accuracy/fidelity, response time,refresh rate etc etc.
For example: NEC MultiSync 17 is only 1280X1024 but has MUCH BETTER QUALITY, but it also cost around$500 :D
What i mean to say is that u may mislead ppl into thinking that higher resolution leads to beter image quality.
And please leave out the Dynamic Contrast Ratio marketing gimmick.

hey i got a question i got the same screen but it's synchmaster p2270. Anyways can you tell me if there is a way to make video quality better.Because it seems like my bulky cpu screen that i used to have has better video quality.
the video right now seems sorta stretched and some times i can see the pixels it's not that crisp looking.

I just bought this monitor and after some tweaking I can say I am very satisfied with it. Once you got the resolution slider to the right and you tweak your contrast and stuff, this monitor is the way to go. I recommend it. P.S. Had 753s before ;)

I play gears of war 2 and halo 3 on it, its amazing. 2ms response time is actually faster than most monitors, it should be less laggy...
Are you playing PC FPS? Maybe turn down the quality or resolution a bit, that should lessen lag.

Maybe it's just that I'm used to playing on a CRT, which is what I did before I got the P2250. I play a very old game though, that shouldn't be the problem. And yes, on PC :-)

connected my xbox 360 to it via vga set the screen res to the highest in the xbox settings (1920x1080) but it said can't set the screen format with vga for hd mode or summin if i remember this was under the display setting on the xbox. or can anyone go throught with me what setting on their xbox they have to get the best quality picture.
Also noticed with lettering during the playing the xbox on vga is slightly blurred even on the highest res setting
