Well, yes you can be on verizon's network if you are jailbroken, but Jailbreaking isn't what allows you to connect on different networks, you need to UNLOCK in order to do that.

No this is not possible. The iPhone only has a GSM radio and Verizon's network uses CDMA. Jailbreaking your phone only affects your ability to modify the software and its settings not the hardware.
