  • I was interested in gathering some in-detail facts about the Thompson M1A1: manufacturing techinques, maybe pictures or footage of the actual firearm being crafted and assembled, deployment history of one of these firearms and so forth. Could you point out books or other sources of information to gather such data? Also, realistically speaking, how much action could an average M1A1 see? I understand some samples were used in the early stages of the Vietnam War,others sold to Chinese Red Guards...

  • I have a 15 thousand dollar gun. imagine what it will be worth in 100 years.

  • hey, i have a question.. is it thompson or thomson? my friend keeps on saying that its thomson..

  • @sn0wchyld well the guns probably belonged to their parents

  • awesome i want one

  • as a gunsmith in training, this video is interesting as all get out.

  • How did i get from kicked in the nuts to here lol

  • That's enough to supply a small resistance.

  • 好牛逼啊!

  • I'm here from a video of FPS Russia!! LMAO when I saw the old guy

  • boooring! dont talk! shoot stuff!

  • thanks for the answers. I'm a little wiser about this.

  • great now all you need is Peter Jackson and King Kong. thumbs up this fucking comment.

  • Well you've answered a lot of things I always wondered about these guns after watching all the gangster movies. I often wondered how they loaded the drum magazines and how they worked. I never knew they were 'clockwork', and why the US army didn't use them. We don't get this type of good stuff in the UK. I don't know if they were ever used by our gangsters or armed forces, probably not. Very good and interesting video and good explanation. He obviously loves his subject...

  • @Paul02111960 In Army tests, when the gun with drum mag was set down too hard on a rock, the drum got a tiny dent in the outside surface which protruded a tiny bit into the inside, stopping the rotor from turning and and the drum would no longer feed ammo, useless.

  • very nutritious stuff

  • thats a shit load of bullets...how much were in that clock drum mag...and whats the fastest rate you could fire out of that

  • yumm just ate a penis

  • Excellent collection. Thanks for explaining everything, very informative.

  • Thank you for this video, very handsome collection with some interesting info on the various types of Thompsons. Glenn Wittenberger (hope that's the correct spelling) seemed very much a gentleman.

  • Let's hope all the alien fanatics are right. And that they are hostile so all gun-crazed americans can go shoot at something.

  • I love the guns used in WWII. What a collect of thompsons there. Nice video!!!

  • kha hay

  • waw

  • But you can edit that out

  • the GI'S with the mohawk hair cuts are 101st Airborne Paratrooper's not Rangers.

  • MEDAL OF HONOR :)

  • The 21-28 Thompson that the guy first talks about seems more practical, with the forward grip and the fact that it accepts the drum mag, why wasnt is used during WW11? or was it not developed until afterwards? I do see the occasional picture from the Korean or Vietnam war, and some soldiers still used the Thompson, but in the pictures it still looked like an M1a1.

By the way, correct me if i'm wrong, but at 0:36 does he say "Origional Russian Thompson Crate"?

  • thx, for this video. I'm from germany and the WW2 is the darkest time in our History.

And I'm happy that the Americans destroy all that Nazi shit in 1945 and after 1945.

Thats the reason why I like all of those Videos, and the history of all wars the Us have fought.

Thx all the US veterans who fougth, for our freedom we have here in Germany now, and the man who died in WW2 and all the other wars.

sry my english is not the best it's crap I know but i hope you understand what I try to say

  • classic American machine gun, hell yea

  • hahahahahahaha Lan WithinBurger beautiful name !!!!

  • Looks like the drums were really space inefficient. The rotor takes up a lot of space.

  • I wish I had a cock on my top aswell.

  • Question. I see in a lot of wwII footage that soldiers used a straight bulletholder. Why didn't they use the round holder which contained a lot more bullets?

    tnx in advanced. max

  • @max1980as The US armed forces didn't like those because if you set the weapon down too hard or on a rock, a little dent would keep the drum mag from working.

  • @cannonmn Drum mags are also a space waster.

  • @cannonmn ... I always wondered this too; thanks

  • @cannonmn I heard on a TV shop about the Thompson that the drum mag rattled as it fed and it was disliked for this reason. It seems to me the gunfire would overwhelm any such noise, but that was the claim. Yours makes better sense to me, but do you have any idea if that could have been an issue?

  • @cannonmn Also, keeping small rectangular mags will enable you to carry more clips in a pouch/backpack etc.. hence, leaving you with more bullets all in all

  • @cannonmn Not to mention 100 .45 cal bullets weighs a ton hangin from the bottom of a rifle while you're trying to hit something. At least that seems to be one of the arguments said about modern hi-cap magazines, as well

  • @max1980as Do you have any idea how heavy those drums are with 100 rounds in it?

  • @max1980as The drum mag's were also louder, weighed more and were more unwieldy. Look at the pouches used to hold the drum mags, you could easily hold 4 or 5 straight mags/clips instead. As mentioned, if the drums were over-wound, they would jam. You could tell how many rounds were left in the clip & top them off easier. The 20/30 round clips also improved fire discipline and made the soldier duck for cover instead of continuing to be a target as they emptied the drum.

  • "I shouldn't have said that but you can edit it out" LOL!

  • very nice video..

  • Very nice gun, I picked up one for 15,000 USD at a Gun show.

  • soy fanatico de las arma

  • woot that helmet was marked for the 36th ID!

  • Santa!

  • The M2 carbine has to be the most valuable weapon there they didn't make very many of them

  • nice job! i didn't know that the round drums could hold up to 100 bullets, though.

  • The " cocking handle " is actually called the bolt

  • @01danek The "bolt" is actually called the pulling a dick back mechanism. Get your facts right.

  • Chicago typewriter.

  • ill take them all for 600,000

  • Great Video 5*****

  • awesome video

  • i dont see a collection i see a weapons distribution center for a zombie apocalypse

  • this guy is awesome what he got <_<

  • i used to have a thompson m1a1, but it was a remake from kahr arms, and it would only take cheap .45 russian ammo that was REAL smoky and terrible, and it sometimes the primer would come off the bullet when firing so i sold it.plus the gun was not that well made it's self. it honestly was not that good as a real one would be. definitely not worth 1 grand.

  • Heh, he said cock alot

  • The guy demonstrating sounds drunk.

    Good video though.

  • OMG! That is Santa!!!!

  • @N3xTB0y.... Yeah.. In this case one Santa at service of the death and Satan...

  • mafiaaaaaaa 1928 thompson

  • Thanks! great video learned a lot about the Thompson.

  • A friend of mine has access to the Royal Armouries pattern room in Leeds, England, for research purposes (PhD). If he writes to them in advance, he can request to view any weapon that they have, and they have tens of thousands of pieces.

  • Cannot believe these guns were once made at $12 each

  • I hope that one i will have one of these gun. One day.

  • What a beautiful gun!

  • Fantastic video, didn't know how many actual variants there were of the Thompson. I did see one online for 33,000$ once, so im not surprised that one very clean one goes up to 40k+.

alot of history behind those guns.

  • Top Cocker! LMAO

  • Im 12 and i used to love reading about world war history and soldiers but that day ended when i was introduced to call of duty

  • @12ANC21 Glad you like it; we probably have some other weapons historical stuff you'd like among our 260 videos. We always enjoy hearing from younger folks who are interested in history. Thanks for the comment.

  • @cannonmn Im very interested in WW2 (i'm 16), do you have more vids of WW2 , maybe some original footage?

  • I wonder how Colorado Springs Police Department came into possession of these guns. I want mine back :( :( :(

  • That Jeep dispenser can is cool!

  • Santa failed me.

  • The Poster at 7.31 "Must Britain give up India" =) nice peace of History.. Our Poor Empire.. lol Awesome collection of Guns though great video.

  • santa clause doesnt just give toys

  • Can they make reproductions so we can afford them?

  • @nick95playa There are semi-auto reproductions available but they aren't "quality" like the originals. They look quite similar but when you get closer you can tell the repros aren't high-quality items. I had one and it always shot about four feet left of the target at 25 yards and there wasn't any way to adjust the sights that much.

  • Thanks guys brilliant video! Please make more like maybe make an MP-40 display. Thanks a lot.

  • @mrpanties12 wow looks like your verey interested!

  • i use this gun on call of duty world at war

  • @cannonmn DAAAAMN!!! I just went to a gun show and they were selling it for 12K. DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!!! !!! !!!

  • @cannonmn uzi's cost between 1000 and 2000 dollers

  • @NickLaGrou maby semi auto maby but a pre 86 uzi is going to cost 10k +

  • @kosmosleha correction some most are base price of 35,000$ he says somethng like the sorts of that.

  • @CL137626 Those 72 Germans were Osama's virgins :)

  • @CL137626 both great smgs^^

  • @CL137626 Im german and I like all kind of weapons!

  • @TheFinalDance Dude, it's just a joke.

  • @CL137626 German weapons at that time were far superior than any other, even if you dont like it...thats how it is.

  • @impossiblefeel Germany had some of the best weapons, but not all true. The Thompson was an excellent weapon - so was the Browning .50 cal. which is still in use and hasn't changed a bit. Keep in mind the Thompson was firing a .45, which makes a 9mm look like a BB.

  • @442hoeky It isnt always about the round, tho I agree with u about the Browning.

  • @impossiblefeel You're right, it's not just about the round. Also, the Thompson did have a pretty slow rate of fire for a sub-machine gun, but it was well designed and finely machined. They actually couldn't produce them fast enough, which is why they started mass producing the M3 'Grease gun', which was a junky blowback action like the sten, but they could stamp most of the parts instead of machining them.

  • @impossiblefeel Well no duh, i know that the germans had superior technology. It's just a joke.

  • The thompson has been around since 1904

  • hohoooo

fat guns for a fat nation xD

  • you didn't edit it out...

  • How many Millions of Innocent people has America Killed? More people than any country. Who tells the US military who to Kill? Who tells us who our Enemy is? The bankers. the United nations.
