ums das mit anderen serien zu vergleichen wo deutsch gesprochen wird ( in den orginalen nich deutsch synchronisierten versionen ) ... muss ich sagen Hut ab vor dem Schauspieler der den Wachmann spielt ... man hört es raus das er kein deutscher ist aber er spricht es perfekt und von Anna Torv wusste ich auch nicht das sie deutsch kann ... hut ab =)

I have to say: YES, she has a VERY strong accent, but it´s MUCH better, than Kiefer Sutherland did it in 24...

Ich denke, der Wächter hat einen leichten englischen Akzent. Ist zwar offenbar in Berlin geboren, aber vielleicht lebt er schon so lange im englischsprachigen Ausland, dass sein Deutsch etwas darunter gelitten hat. Ein bisschen wie Sarah Chalke, die zwar gut Deutsch spricht, aber eben auch nicht akzentfrei (und röchelt gern dabei, als hätte sie eine schwere Halsentzündung, weil sie das Angry German-Klischee bedienen muss).

no the actor isnt german imo , because he speaks with a strong accent and horrible pronounciation and ,for all the germans he says "gewalt verwenden " instead of "Gewalt anwenden " typical translation mistake to me=)

I think the guard is a German actor though he does have an accent.

To me it sounds like a Hessian dialect, especially if you listen to the "Sie sind nicht befugt sich hier weiterhin aufzuhalten"-part, weiterhin sounds more like weidähin.

Hessian would be fitting as the prison is situated in Wiesbaden (which is the capital of Hesse) if I remember correctly.

@Sgoda85 He definately isn't Hessian (I am :-D) I thought the guard might be austrian but then I looked on imdb.com. It says the Prison guard is called Lars Gerhard and he is from Berlin. Never met anyone there with such an accent. Maybe they subbed him?

Well it's quite difficult for not native German speakers to say the [ch] or mainly the [sch]-lutes, so it's sounds funny and a bit weird to us, but I can understand everything she said. I believe the guard is a German actor because there are no pronunciation errors! I think it's weird that there are no subtitles for the American viewers ... at least not on TV, but then with the DVD, right?!
