  • putting me in the mood 2 toast the past!!!

  • This deserved to be huge!!! Can never work out why it wasn't. Check out the full version on the album, some great guitar!

  • Most underrated band ever in my opinion. Love them.

  • Wasn't old enough to remember the bands peak, but I say bring back the Ben Shermans and the easy days ! This is real music !!!

  • live in manchester and brixton dec 2012.. excellent band!!

  • this song always brings tears to my eyes,,,,40yr old hardknocked glasweigan

  • cant wait to see them live again in November

  • Superb song,will never grow old....P.P.Arnold,what a fuckin voice!!

  • one of the most under rated bands of all time , there concerts are shit hot 20 anniversary was magic

  • helps when you are feeling proper shit about everthing

  • 10 people have their own opinions, even if you don't agree with it! Live with it and feel sorry for them.

  • @OTSTRETFORD was fine when it was 10 but now it's... dun dun dun 11! .. I reckons that 240p to old school for them ... Vidiots

  • 10 people are obviously ugly things...

  • 10 people are terrible things.

  • Perfectamundo

  • one of the best bands of all time, and yet so under-rated......its a crime that these guys were not bigger than oasis and blur

  • cheering me up in the middle of my chemotherapy

  • @CyfiawnderToTheMaw

The very best of luck, hope its all ok now.

  • Thank you so much for your kind thought. All treatment finished last month so hoping for good results in next couple of months :-) And still loving this song.....

  • the 90s ruled!!!

  • Simon Fowler, best voice in the world

  • my ex must of shagged many guys listening to this

  • @mtaylor848 The charts need song writers again. Music barely has lyrics worth remembering and apparently nobody can play a guitar either.

This song makes me think of a Rolling Stones kind of ballad, without Mick chewing on his lips.

  • 10 dislikes now thats amazing, What the....?

  • I'm in love with this song...

  • That was indeed a beautiful thing

  • Excellent! Thank you x

  • i miss the nineties ,DONT MAKE THEM LIKE THIS NO MORE.listening to this makes me fancy a bottle of cider and a quick roll about in the stinging nettles ha ha ....thumbs up all you old rockers lol

  • Great song, nice to see Colonel Gaddafi on rhythim guitar

  • OCS are gonna be at oxegen again this year! my tickets bought anyway think its the 6th time i've seen them live pure class!! I'm sick of hearing them bein compared to those manc twats oasis tho... completely different sound and ocean colour scene have far more depth to there songs

  • Is this a cover of a PP Arnott song?

  • city lol

  • was at witness before it was oxegen it was crap about to leave then the intro of 100 mile heighway came on,stay till the next morning fuckin A man

  • @lockateard17 nice story brother

  • cant fcukin wait to see these at V!!!! as soon as i seen these on the bill i had to be seduced into purchasing a ticket!!!

  • colin mcrae my idol my inspiration rip in peace colinnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!! its a beautiful thing

  • @mtaylor848 The music that comes out of these ""Artists"" today makes me really sad..... really really sad ... How did it go from what we had back then to N Dubz?!

  • Grew up in the ninties! love the music now like I did then.. MISS YOU GUYS!! xx

  • im 15 and i love this song and all of there songs

  • Has meatloaf feel to this song, don't mean that in a bad way because i love both artists.

  • That coat he has on is the dogs bollox.

  • @shallbeagain I'd hate to think how many dogs where killed to make a coat of bollocks.

  • @ozzieg1980 I'd be very surprised and appalled if that were real fur man, I'm disgusted by the practice of killing animals for clothing. I doubt Simon Fowler would wear real fur.

    Peace

  • @shallbeagain i'd hate to know how many dogs were killed to make a coat from bollocks!

  • They are not that underrated they made a tidy packet out of ocs and then they parted . I have seen them live since the nineties on a couple of occasions minus Damon Minchella who is playing more jazz music now . They got enough success and if you younglings are only just discovering them then well done you have a good ear , however they are not underrated just past their heyday Go buy their music get them back to numberone it would only take about ten of you to achive this in todays chart

  • 10 people wouldn't know what a beautiful thing was if it came up and bit them on the ass.

  • its breaks me to know that this band is so underated, some people could do with this music. im 16 and my dad used to play along to these on his guitar when i was a baby. i still listen to this stuff from today, and others but this is awesome

  • Great harmonising. Love both of their voices. Great song. Great band

  • Fur is murder

  • They are still the best thing to have come out of the 90s. Love love love it.

  • Spent six years in the 90's. Oasis and Ocean Colour Scene were my bread and butter.

  • Cant believe I'm missing o2 accademy gig in Leeds got to go to bloody USA on hols (BOLLOX)

  • feb 22nd!- cant wait

  • cool song, simon fowler has such a distinct sounding voice, good stuff :) thanks for uploading.

  • I cant actually describe how i feel when i hear this.....

  • 8 dislikes loooooooosers

  • They was my fav band through the 90's brit pop indie thing. It was like a kind of modern northen soul sound. Love this band and wish it would have set off a area of its own.

  • awesome

  • stevenmcg69 i couldnt agree more

  • go see them live they are always on tour. and they are even better! in fact the best gig you will ever go to! they do all the numbers and its always a sell out! and the gigs are crawling with fanny!

  • god i miss this the days of oasis ocs the vere and cast. great days gone now its just this hip hop shit

  • @stevenmcg69 you know that brother its a sad sad thing

  • @stevenmcg69 feel ya fella there ehere all great bands, such a shame how it's pan out these days but we have youtube to reminnise peace.

  • awesome record

  • on the car audio the cd brummed my ears out on overdue mid, what sierra was that again. anyway boogie and i have different options on the tablature. but the voices incredible

  • One of the finest songs ever written.

  • @mtaylor848 This is becoming more realistic again thanks to Internet Radio. I know, it's not really the same, but there are a lot of great stations, especially since you're no longer limited by areas of reception. Actual oldschool radio stations where DJs find, select, and play music they like, rather than just put in this month's sampler CD sent to them by the labels along with a little pocket money :)

  • genius!!

  • @mtaylor848 Who needs the charts anyway? There are a lot of great, talented artists out there. It might have become a bit harder to find good music, but ultimately I think it's a good thing that the charts are going down the drain. It was a stupid concept in the first place, and its death means bigger possibilities for the indie labels.

  • wot a fuckin tune!!! were have all the good bands gon?

  • It's a testament to the character of these guys that they are still going strong 21 years on. Saw them on Sunday at RAH, and this song in particular was immense. Emotional...

  • this type of music is usually not my thing! however i remember coming back from a year in australia in november 1997 and my friend played this for me on vhs video, i liked it then and its taken me 13yrs to find it again cos i didnt know the name of the band/song, i only new the vidoe was in a barn, i found it by accident on utube 1 week ago and carnt stop playing it. this tune is off the scale! FAB and i love it.

  • shame young people listen to some of the crap today and not privleged to grow up with ocs

  • @bird2380

hey i'm 22 and grew up with ocs an amazeing band very underated and most certanly beter than all the crap in the charts now a

    day's

  • What a night on Thursday lost my voice but more than worth it...

To start the night with the riverboat song was just fantastic..

    Bring on the barrowlands

  • @Teamyboy i was at the barrowlands gig in 1997, they said it was ther best gig they had done , at the time , nothing better than starting the night off with 100 mile high city, superb band

  • @281jamie I was there too mate the only thing i remember is going to the bar when the riverboat song was on but my mates said i had a great time

    thanks for the comment mate

  • @Teamyboy great band , i went to see them the following year in the s.e.c.c., wasnt as good but it was still a good night , wasnt pished tho lol, still listen to all of ther songs , the old ones are the best

  • Going to see them in Glasgow on thursday

  • @Teamyboy.goin 2 see them too.hopefully will be a great gig

  • In my opinion the most under rated band of all time , never got the reconition they deserved, absolutely fantastic!!!!!

  • hello casey

  • Is this a cover of a PP Arnold song? I've heard it before?

  • @TheHazzainthehouse Hi, Thie is a duet with PP Arnold and not a cover mate, OCS wrote this one sounds like its been around forever tho..Top Tune..Top Band..and PP Arnold is always great.

  • They have so many good songs that folks like me, now in their middle thirties often look back upon and want to reclaim that youth! Oh yes, I was young in the 90's and despite all the struggles, that was my decade! To whoever put this up, thank you.

  • Oh I'm like floored here..This is gorgeous!!!!!

  • love this track had it for my wedding song allways brings a tear to my eye

  • Hail the britpop movement!

  • so glad i grew up in the era i did,it would fucking suck to grow up with the state of mainstream music atm, great band, don't get anything nearly as creative these days.

  • top brit band forget about the oasis squabling get into these lads stand the test of time and are fantastic live

  • yeah like the verve deserve so much more credit best two bands of the nineties not oasis and not blur!!!!!!

  • My son is only 10.5 , born 99 and absolutely loves OCS, introduced to him by Soccer AM , then by chance I was in an OCS humour one morning and played Mechanical Wonder in the car, not knowing that he had ever heard any of their tracks , he nearly had a fit and when he realised all the albums were at home he was in heaven.

  • Such a unique distinctive voice. Amazing

  • this band kin rock

  • anyone know where these guys are playing 2010????

  • @badgedodgerman they're at Wickerman this year :)

  • They are everything that oasis wanted to be. Absolutely fantastic.

  • @drumsaboutdrums mate they are a great band but im pretty sure oasis were more than happy with earning mega money playing massive stadium tours and recording iconic songs of the 90's

  • Thanks for the Small Faces recommendation, Tone, will check that out.

  • @TheHarecat

Try .'The song of a Baker' by Small Faces.. class

Then try OCS version....does it absolute justice.

    Best band ever!

  • can't remember when i first heard this, but i know i was with such a special girl at the time, and finding it again brings back so many good memories the power of music eh.

  • your a fuckin wank!!

    mrfatelvistheham

  • does anyone know what this song means?

  • I think it´s about life....as simple as that :)

  • still and always will be 1 of my favourite bands of all time!

  • This was one of my favourite songs when i was growing up.

OCS wrote some of the most iconic tunes of the 90s it's a shame that the narrow-minded attitude attached to Brit Pop at the time sorta killed them off :/

  • mate there still goin strong

  • ocs knocked oasis off the number1 spot in 94 with both single and album sales... simon then came out as being gay and OCS' record sales fell by 70% overnight.. because of the brit pop geezer era! they were then dropped by there record company, and later picked up by paul wellar, but it was too late by that stage. what a shame we are still so closed minded in this day and age?!?!?!? still a fantastic live band fantastic almost 20 years on!!!

  • I didnt know that - thats unbeleivable. One of my favorite bands ever and they are gone because of that? What a fuckin shame. Makes you pised of at the shit thats out there now knowing a band like this are sitting there doing nothing.
