thank you! yes he has come very far now! its been a while since i made this video. and this horse hs gone from a rail knocker, last place winning horse to a first place winner. we now are doing novice level eventing i am very proud on how far he has come. :D
Well, the first thing you need to do is . . . . no no, I'm kidding. I agree with you wholeheartedly about the degree to which people take their comments. Your boy looks like a great fellow - good luck to you with him!
thanks! i have a special pad that goes under is regular pad, its light weight. and a thick foam pad. this was before i switch my gullet, so i did not need it at the time. then he he bulked out and gained more wait so i needed a new gullet.
ya i just recently took him to a show called quail run it was at one time a USEA event the jumps were HUGE but we ended up getting 3rd out of 10 poeple!
now I know that I do not have any vids on me on here but that's because I haven't convinced my parents to tape me when I'm riding. :P If you don't trust me then fine, but just hear me out when I say that I am NOT lieing to YOU or anyone else. Sorry for the huge long post but that's what I have to say. :D
And finally, I am now working with a 6 yr. old Dutch/TB mare that is still quite green. My trainer tells me that I am the perfect rider for her because this mare needs simple, "to the point" cues that a trainer gives. I am not saying that I am a professional but I am experienced enough to ride and just this green horse will giving her a positive training experience.
Now, I have ridden for five years (all english) and I have ridding at LEAST 50 horses and ponies. A lot of those have been tempermental, stubborn little things that I have helped overcome their little problems. ;) I catch ride a lot for my friends and I am a very trusted rider at the barn that I ride at, and i am trusted on YouTube because the riding advice that give is CORRECT. People can tell that I know what I am talking about from the content of my posts.
Ok, I know that I don't meet all of your requirements but I feel like this should be said. You are a GREAT rider but it looks like you sometimes catch your horse in the mouth on the landing side of the jump. Other than that you are AWESOME.
i don't know why it looks like that but i swear i am not pulling on his mouth. if i put my hands forward over the jump to wear there is a lot slack when we come down he pull his head down and out then i catch him in the mouth. i give just a SLIGHT pressure all the way over the jump (not pulling) to prevent catching him in the mouth it just looks like i am pulling his mouth
before i bought schooley i road an arab named princess she hated when kids pulling on he mouth over the jumps. i used the same hand position as i do on schooley she loved it she never would rip her head down after the jump so i know that i am doing o harm if the biggest moody mare ever likes my hand position . but thanks for your comments!
he has really good form for just being off the track, so coordinated lol, i seem to get all the clumsy ones. Keep up the good work you guys look great
i wish i was still working with them, the owner sold them because she could finally make a profit, i miss them but now i can concentrate on my guy. how long have you had schooley?
I'm gonna comment because: 1) I've been riding english for 11 years. 2)I take a lesson once a week. 3)I've ridden over 100 different horses and ponies (not kidding). 4)I have many vids on youtube. 5)I've been riding for two years now a 6 years old (he was 4 at the start) TB gelding who was a racehorse. ...soo is that ok ? lool. But, the only advice I would give you is... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, you two look amazing !! =D Really nice job !!! I know how difficult it is with X racers, believe me =P
it may be becz he mayby had probs with his teeth becz our old sec D hangs his tong out becz he did and he stil hangs it out lol or just a habbi (( eventing101 that is too :D ))
we think he sticks his tongue out be cuz he was a race horse and he spent a lot of his life in a stall then 2 years in a pasture (with out any work) so he picked up some habits along the way but i love his tongue! its what makes schooley... schooley! ^_^ thanks for the comment!
he has a future in jumping! WOW! For a beginner, he is gonna go far
