I guess it's inevitable wherever people have conflicting viewpoints, but it's still depressing to see that people have such disregard for tolerance and common courtesy. One wonderful thing about Evolution is that the story DOES change as time goes on. As we find more evidence to fill in the gaps, the story tends to get more accurate and more fascinating. Evolution is like a big WIKI, and anyone who uncovers verifiable evidence can augment the story for everyone. What IS wins out over what "should be".

The process of Evolution has been observed countless times in nature. For example during the industrial revolution birch trees were gradually covered with soot and a white moth that tended to hang out on the bark slowly turned black (over something like 50 years) to blend in. Then when coal went out of style, the moths slowly tracked back to white. Those that didn't change got eaten by birds.

Carl Sagan never denied the authenticity of the ICA STONES (burial stones with dinosaur images on them from 2,000 years ago) Instead he said that Dinosaurs were so fearsome that the memory of them has been genetically implanted into all living things, and that after millions of years, man was able to draw them accurately.... You know what bugs me just as much as overly religious people? Hardline atheists who want everyone to think exactly like them. Why do these two groups of people have to have it one way of the other? It is undisputed because there is absolutely no room for reasonable doubt. We have OBSERVED microscopic organisms evolving. Nobody rejects evolution except the religious, just like how nobody rejects the theory of gravity or Newton's Laws.
Apes don't magically turn into apes, the apes that can produce more effectively, or live longer and produce more young, like the smarter ones will slowly change the whole populous, that's basic statistics. Eventually you reach something wholly different from the beginning... it's really quite amazing, study it, don't just throw the theories out the windows because you don't agree with them. Examine your knowledge and improve it!

Carl Sagan never denied the authenticity of the ICA STONES (burial stones with dinosaur images on them from 2,000 years ago) Instead he said that Dinosaurs were so fearsome that the memory of them has been genetically implanted into all living things, and that after millions of years, man was able to draw them accurately.... That's some twisted logic, man!!!

You do know that Javier Cabrera that made the discovery sold those stones to tourists and refused to tell the location of where he found them. Strangely enough the paint on the rocks was dated to resent times. I'm sure youre gullible enough to believe such tall tales, but I find it suspicious. What Carl thought on the subject is irrelevant to the discovery.

Read the book: "The Secret of the Ica Stones" by Dennis Swift, the evolutionist who set out to prove them as fakes, and came away an expert. Thousands have been authenticated. And hundreds of thousands of dollars have been turned done by labs, to prove them as fake. YES, fakes were made to sell to tourists, and hack saws were used, EASY to spot. The patina on thousands of them was authentic. Read the book, if you want the full story... What Carl thought is important - HE DIDN'T DENY THEM.

It's when you support/defend religion ( you do that even by respecting ludicrous religious beliefs) which is the greatest source of evil on this planet that I have a problem with you (and Sagan did too). Religion and theism are too different things. If you believe in god we can have a nice intellectual discussion/debate; we'll have fun, we'll argue, but religion is much more than merely believing in god and that's the problem.

What was SO good about this show is that he can explain things, and provide examples, just look at his explanation of a Black Hole, he provided us an example that light can bend under heavy gravity, I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THAT BACK THEN (2005) HE CAN EXPLAIN STUFF, why can't today's explanations be like that?

It's hard to accept the fact that there is something else out there smarter then us, because we are the greatest thing the world has ever seen. ACTUALLY...birds are believed to have evolved from the dromeosaurids, or what most people know as the raptors. There were no "flying dinosaurs" however. Pterosaurs are NOT dinosaurs...although they ARE Archosaurs, like Dinosaurs...but also like Crocodiles.

Apes don't magically turn into apes, the apes that can produce more effectively, or live longer and produce more young, like the smarter ones will slowly change the whole populous, that's basic statistics. Eventually you reach something wholly different from the beginning... it's really quite amazing, study it, don't just throw the theories out the windows because you don't agree with them. Examine your knowledge and improve it!
