But after season 6 ASP & WB couldnt come to an agreement.

So ASP left the show after season 6.

ASP said:" I wanted a differnet ending, different things for rory and lorelai [..]" and she also said "I created Jess as Rorys other half .. the one she really wanted to be with"

So in my head .. Rory & Jess are living happily ever after in NY .

Logan didn't deserve Rory, he slept with more than one girl in one night. Jess would never have done that to Rory. Jess also fits with Rory better, she's a writer and he loves art and books...
