@italianoval Actually it was because Tom Fontana had done every thing he wanted to with the show and when he started writing the sixth season he was asked by HBO if he wanted to end the show or keep it going so he decided to end it with season 6.

Thank you for this awesome behind the scenes stuff. I didn't watch the show when it was on originally, but once I saw one repeated episode I had to watch the entire series. The Sopranos blows compared to this show and yet it never got ONE emmy. That's bullshit.

I loved OZ and The Sopranos, but I don't really think you can compare the two. Totally different storylines and totally different cast! They are both fantastic in their own way, but yes i do agree, OZ definitely deserved numerous Emmys!!!
