Do you know if her character's name is a kind of tribute to Dashiell Hammett's The maltese falcon, whose main character is named Sam (Samuel) Spade too?

not sure but in one of the earlyer episode sam does mention to a girls in season 1? i think or mabye 2 about the maltese falcon so mabye it was in an episode with a school teacher who went missing and the girl was thought to be a victum first but then it turned out she was in love with him somthing like that but i do remeber sam sayin someting like "my mum was a Maltese falcon fan isnt that a bit beyone your time"

@ev2081974 In one episode she explains that her mother was a fanatic about the movie and was expecting her to be a boy so she got stuck with the name any way. Now idk about you, but to me this is the writer's way of doing just that, paying tribute to a movie, character and actor.
