the real Charlie met the real Susan she is the redhead as he got to see her nipped cheesecake
Charlie was Suzerainty in alter alter persona within the film she/he alone searched for the ghost orchid which turned out to be just a flower after going around in circles to arrive at the conclusion as Duse ex car Machina ate Don/Larouche
the Don/Larouche stole Charlie/Sus script called the 3 or ternary de-constructionist the Ouroboros 3 tones on the green phone lines
"Sorry, but I don't owe David Kaufman's memory a gratuitous pass... my opinion isn't changed at all by considering Mr. Kaufman's memory."
I wasn't referring to your opinion of the film. I was laughing at you for this long-winded response to someone who was making a joke. DONALD Kaufman is a fictional character. Charlie has no brother... ergo you were not actually disrespecting anyone's memory. I just thought your response to that comment made you look rather comically foolish. :)
personally.. I love Nicolas Cage as Kaufman but I don't on Kaufman and his films.. It's so...... him .. like.. killing john malcovichi.. malcovitchi? ;; etc..
gosh... till now you know, I thought she is actually that kind of person as described in the film. So i couldn't believe how she apears as writer on google and amazon.. anyway.. her writings were so beautiful.
Amazing, romantic, passionate book. Digressions, yes, but they come back around to reveal a playful curiosity detailed through her simple writing of her experiences... The movie, bizarre, genius and original, through still with all the elements; protagonist, antagonist, mentor and love interest and more. Charlie Kauffman was brilliant, as were the actors!
I saw this book at Borders Books Eureka California Bayshore Mall. Sat down in Seattle's Best Coffee & read about 6 pages & I really enjoyed the book. I decided I wanted the book. a lot of people rated the book a 3 star but, truly deep down in side why would you let some body else tell you what to rate it. rate it your self. you might enjoy it like I did
I have always wondered what Susan Orleans thoughts on adaptation would be! A funny interview to boot!
Having only read the book and seen the film....i had wondered what Orlean looked like! Even while reading the book I always had the image of Meryl Streep in my head!
I used to run with many of the characters in the book. Haven't seen the movie but the book is reality.

Excellent, I was just thinking how she must of felt... I'm glad she liked it.. sounds like there were a lot of parallels to reality here..

it's not a rendition of the book...try to separate yourself from the book and watch the film again. it's a tremendous work of art.

@cairnnation I think you are being very disrespectful to the memory of Donald Kauffman.
