On February 8, 1919, Franchet d'Espèrey entered Constantinople on a white horse, emulating Mehmed the Conqueror's entrance in 1453 after the Fall of Constantinople, signifying that Ottoman sovereignty over the imperial city was over. When he rode his horse over a Turkish flag laid on a street in Galata district.my moneys on France.France defeated in 1 hour whats he mean preemptive nuclear strike.
@woolwichjack And in 1923 d'Espèrey and his white horse with its tail between its legs left Istanbul never to return. The French are easy to defeat (ask the Germans).
at euclid901: be informed, Turkey has 400 nuclear weapons. 104 on her own rights. What wants France now? Just compare France and Turkish Air Force and you will see on Flight models and the amount that France is weak...
@TheAnamurBoy Maybe. But we all know in an all-out war international law can go hang. (Personally, I'd like to think it's true that Turkey could defeat France so easily, but I doubt it.)
You're right if France would not obey the international law and use his nuclaer weapons. If that would be the case, then I don't suppose Turkey would be able to defeat France. :) Nuclear waepons aren't things to play with and I'm sure Turkey is aware of this great danger.
But from another side, I think that France wouldn't use such a weapon because of the political consequences that would come from the other countries.
Turks are going to raise and be protector of the east, once again. European terrorism is going to end.

I don't see how Turkey could "defeat the French in an hour", given that France is a nuclear power.

@euclid901 (And Turkey isn't.)

@euclid901 Because the international law prohibits the use of nucleair weapons?

Just let's hope there will be no war. :)
