this song is not sung by khursheed but sitaaraa baayee kaanpuree. the song was written by josh malihabadi a very popular poet ...of india who shifted to pakistan
There were two Sitaradevi connected with Hindi Film. One: Sitaradevi- A Dancer. Another Sitaradevi Kanpuri -A Singer. This most candidly sung song was sung by Sitaradevi Kanpuri, but on 78 RPM Gramophone Record credit was given to NINA (a heroin of the film) and film was produced in 1944. I (1938 born) remember having seen this movie and was possessing a gramophone record but lost in a tragic incident. I sincerely wish, some one uploads its video clip.
what a great song. i used to listen to this song when i was very young ..it is very close to my heart even now,,hats off to composer sk paul and great urdu poet josh mallihaabaadee
appreciate this very old song ....i used to hear this song when i was very young and it is still very much close to my heart...thru youtube i came to know that the song was composed by sk paul and written by the great urdu poet josh mallihabadi...thank you so much.
very melodious music-director - Paul and Gyan dutt. In video last photo is that of Khemchand Prakash-the best music director of Bollywood so far till date.He was trained as a classical singer and Kathak-dancer by his father, who was a singer/dancer in the court of Jaipur.
Mirza Ji thanks for this jewel of melody, it is really preserving the treasure. If U can kindly upload the second portion of this song. And if one possess the video clip nothing like it Thanks once again
ek request hai.. Heading Collection... Sitara Bai... (Mun Ke Jeet) ki bajay.. Nagari meri is tarah kab tak barbaad rahegi ya song ki first line de taki... google ya yotube par search karane me aasani ho aur jyada log aapke sundar collection dekh- sun sake.
Mirza Bhai, You are right - the singer is Sitara Kanpuri, different from Sitara Devi, the eminent classical Kathak dancer. Thanks for correcting my error.
Would be very grateful for more songs from "Prithviraj Sanyukta."
