No ramp... if you shoot a ball with the back of a cue elevated, and lots of top english. It will actually "climb" over the rail. Anyone with practice could get it to hop off the table. Making it land where it needed to to sink the balls is a whole another ball game! @Psykoxtreme

Well looking again it is not dificult to do this trick is actualy very easy one. for a poll player takes 2 3 attemps I guaraty you!!! Look at the disposition of the balls as soon as the white touches all get in and the up the white for a player is easy to make it jump the table in a straith way is just a matter of do it once without balls and after put there the balls. The film is cut in half it is obvious. One reason being its hard to fly a cue ball off the take with that much precision and expect ball placement to be exactly lined up for the butterfly fly shot. It is possible but the number of times it must have taken him would have been in the thousands.

Actually it IS fake. You can see the video cut out right before the balls go into all 6 pockets. He prefilmed those balls going in the pockets separately just by tapping them with his cue. Then he blended the video together to make it look real. Yes, the technology is out there to do this. Sorry to piss on your parade.

I like how he throws the stick down at the end like he is the world's best player. It's a nice trick (just jumping the ball that far), but it's not the hardest trick shot ever by any means. Those set up shots are all about placing and hitting them correctly; adding the element of a jump like that makes it harder, but regardless.. I think Mike Massey jumping it further than that into a boot was more impressive (it wasn't one handed was it?).

like i said, scoop shot, where you aim at the bottom of the ball, which is easy. watch the pros on espn jump. they come down on the ball with the cue from about a 40 degree angle and jump it. You're not allowed to scoop underneath it in the pros.

Yes, at 0:24 the ball does seem to disapear, But it doesnt.. Its called FPS, when you record a video, its just a series of pictures with music, and for somewhat fast movements to be recorded smoothly, youll need atleast 30 FPS, but the FPS of this vid is lower as you can tell.. The ball is going to be travelling fastest just after he hits it, and its the speed of the ball which causes it to disapear as the recorder's FPS is too low to record the ball smoothly at those speeds. Also, as to the authenticity of the shot: He may have placed a quarter or other coin in the path of the cue, which will give the cue ball a slight lift and let the cue ball bounce right up and over the rail. And like this poster said, the cue was moving so fast, that the motion seems to skip on the camera, because of low fps.
