Putting a higher priority on nationalism, politics and ideology than on respect for other human beings creates the sort of conflict that cost these men their lives. Besides, there is no way to raise taxes and cut military spending enough to close a $1.5 trillion deficit. Eliminate the entire military budget and you still have a $900 billion deficit. Repeal the Bush tax cuts and you still have a $750 billion deficit each year. What now? confiscate the wealth of the 400 richest Americans and it still won't close the deficit for one year.

I don't really care my folk goes to Montenegro and most of my fellow countrymen go with families. We won't face same problem since we have German model economy and my homeland isn't in EU. Greece support Serbia against Kosovo and Albanians and ask or need no more.
Sure my country is more ready then most we had war 20 years ago we know how is it like others don't.

What a lovely song, I believe that during WW2 this tunes keep a spirit and worming up the soul of lot of Germans youths far away of their families and homes (without their own guilty). Even nowadays it sounds awesome.

I am an old Japanese born in 1939.
I simply love this song, and the brave soldiers of both sides.
They are all the people of our generation.
We have a proverb "Kateba Kan-gun, Makereba Zoku-gun".
It means "The victors are justified, and the defeated are considered guilty.
Always the history has been written from the victor side.
WW2 should and will be re-written thoughraly in the future

The foolishness of the Allies at the end of World War 1 which took German territory from from Germany led to Germans following Nazi doctrination and promises of greatness. In both world wars ALL sides lost decent people. I hope that those who leave negative comments remember that good and bad exists in all peoples. Its not peoples that are evil but individuals.

@ElLuz6 I think we more or less agree. You are not engaging in idiotic finger pointing and puerile boasting. The European wars of the Twentieth Century were an unmitigated and unnecessary disaster. The American role in settling World War I was not helpful, imho. Wilson made promises he couldn't keep and the Allies' treatment of Germany was despicable.
Nazism embodied a lot of idiotic ideas that were in the air in the West at the time. Nazism was the logical endpoint of Progressivism.
