@Rossdrum97 one the reason I like the Zi8 it allows me to plug a mic into it majority of the time when using the Kodak I use a lapel mic, I have been looking at the Zoom Q3HD with 1x Optical Zoom 2.4 LCD Screen(sorry not the cheapest soution or another option is considering something like a Zoom H1 or H2 recorder and sync with video editor. I found that most compact HD recorders have had issues with the mic when you push it.

Which one would you recommend for audio, i want to record my drums and i need a cheap camera that can take a lot of noise? :)
