I hope that when it comes time to decommission the Hubble they can do so in a way that will allow them to bring it down intact so that it can be placed in a museum. Not everyone knows but the Hubble Space Telescope has been one of the biggest steps weve ever made into understanding the nature and scope of the universe we live in, and it deserves the respect and admiration of future generations.
Us as humans have to expand. Humans can destory, but we can also help things. Curiosity leads the humans to make new things,

I think you need to actually do some research on how much money is spent on Nasa and how much benefit is gained. Us as humans have to expand. Humans can destory, but we can also help things. Curiosity leads the humans to make new things,
so we can learn, and enjoy new stuff. Humans have ruled this planet for century's, but now is time we try to see what else is outside of this planet ,and see what else is out there. This is not a movie,Cartoon, or game. This is reality , the planet wont hold for ever. We should try to see what is out there.

Our economy is not 'screwed' and even if it was it is a small part of humanity. Reaching space is a step for all of humanity and is much more important to the future of our civilization and species than your job my job or any of the useless bullcrap we own including our mere individual lives.

I think you need to actually do some research on how much money is spent on Nasa and how much benefit is gained. Personally I believe the poor can go get a job, but nonpersonally I know that despite being against spending money on space you probably use technology that exists because of that same spending. Learn to think technically and a little less emotionally.

NASA is not only about Space exploration and Aeronautics. Its basically a business supported by the government to advance technology and science. Lets say a group of engineers invents something phenomenal like a new type of engine. NASA will probably give them a small raise but NASA is not losing out. NASA has property over the new engine so they can sell the technology to foreign nations for MILLIONS of dollars!
NASA employs 100s of thousand Americans in doing so profits from them!!

Take an hour or two, sit down, and really stare at some of the images produced by Hubble (all available on their site). If it doesn't subvert your conception of existence, you're not looking hard enough. This floating can of tin foil ranks among the greatest scientific achievements in history, and should be universally revered as such.

While KingGugis comments are nothing short of idiotic I must point out that Continent or Country is simply a label and Europe and the USA are of a relative size so they are a reasonable comparison. Even so NASAs achievements far outweigh ESAs, although you would have to say that much of NASAs progress has come in no small amount from European research and technology. As I say though where this becomes a competition I'll never know...
